Having hiked into Kalalau many years ago and having sailed along the Na Pali coast numerous times, this was still a beautiful and fun experience. Thank you for talking story as we toured. One comment my friend made: she couldn’t understand because captain spoke so fast.

Our tour only made it halfway up the coast because of a mechanical failure. The first half of the tour was very cool but we missed a lot of amazing things. When we contacted them they refused any sort of refund, stating the captain said we made it most of the way and barely missed anything. We knew this wasn't true based on previous tours photos and the crew themselves specifically telling us it was a bummer we only got halfway there. So them lying about that wasn't appreciated. I came back to review this several months later after reading about a recent tour group that had to miss the tour completely because of the cruise and were also stiffed for any sort of refund. So just a word of warning that once you pay them your money is theirs, whether you have a good experience, a bad experience, or no experience at all.

We had an amazing time on our boat tour with Makana Charters along the Nā Pali coastline. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking…those towering cliffs, sea caves! Captain Ah Ah was informative and great. He shared so much interesting history about the island and the coast that really brought the whole experience to life. First mate Nikki was a great complement to the crew and helped make the trip fun and smooth. Everything felt well-organized and enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommend Makana Charters if you’re looking for a memorable way to see the Nā Pali Coast!

Today, my wife and I, along with 4 adult grandchildren and one minor grandchild took our boat tour. Wow, is all we can say. Captain A`A (Hope I have this right) and crew member, Nikki were perfect. Captain A`A gave us great information about the nearby Islands and coast, while Nikki was busy making us all feel at home. We saw it all and they answered all of our questions. They were professionals and it was clear they knew what they were doing. We would recommend this tour too anyone. We just hope you're lucky enough to have this wonderful boat crew as your own, like we did!

Makana charters is top notch. The best excursion in Kauai! Crew was very knowledgeable and accommodating as there ages under 10 to over 80 on the boat. Would definitely do it again!

A’a and Jamie were fantastic! Fun and full of history of Hawaii both personal and historical about the island. Snorkeling was just the right amount of time in a perfect spot. Booking was easy, we called and made the resv because we had a few questions. We were on Seiko 1 -nice sized boat for 15 -never felt crowded at all. The boat handled the waves well, it was a bumpy ride at times which made it very fun! We highly recommend Makena!

Mahalo Makana Charters for such an amazing experience. The captain and crew were absolutely amazing… informative, entertaining and super accommodating! We got to see even more than I was expecting to see. The snorkeling was an added bonus and did see plenty of fish. The water was so nice! We will definitely be doing this again with Makana Charters when we visit Kauai in the future. I highly recommend including this as a must do when visiting this beautiful island.

This was a dream charter. Being a retired Navy diver, I have been around boats most of my adult life and I can say our pilot/captain definitely knew how to handle the Amelia K. He took us on an exciting tour navigating close to cliff walls, tight spaces inside caves, dodging sea turtles and gently drifting near spinner dolphins. Our guides were very knowledgeable about the history and topography of the Na’ Pali Coast. Their love for their culture and enthusiasm towards their patrons shined through. I’d love to repeat this charter the next time I visit Kauai.

Captain Rhi and Jay were amazing! We had another tour booked with a different company before we decided to reserve with Makana Charters and we are so happy that we cancelled it and went with Makana! We booked the Leialoha boat and not only did we end up with the best crew, we got the BEST boat! Cpt. Rhi ripped through the waves like a boss!
