Did a private charter on the Seiko 1 with Captain A’alona and Jaimie yesterday…what an AMAZING day and what AWESOME ppl! Highly recommend this trip and this crew! The Napali coast is just unmatched in beauty and hearing about Kauai from two people who know it so well, (and genuinely love it), made it even more spectacular. Thanks for a GREAT day! DO NOT MISS THIS EXPERIENCE! I did so much research, trying to figure out which company to go with and I was not sorry for one minute. We felt like we were in great hands from start to finish!

We had an awesome trip on the Seiko 1 with Captain A-A and Kaiao! We went on the larger Catamaran cruises before, but this trip allowed us to get into the caves and travel at a faster clip than those other more-commercial drink-off boats. We brought our 12 year old daughter Elsa with us, and she had a great time, so we can definitely recommend this cruise as being family-friendly, safe, and fun!

Captain Tim, Kaiao and Nikki took us on the Na Pali Kai III and this ended up being an experience of a lifetime and I'm dead serious. We saw spinner and bottlenose dolphins, sea turtles, all kinds of fish, inside sea caves, and a ton of history and beauty of the Na Pali coast. The weather cooperated as well which just made it perfect. Would do this 100x more.

Cap. Kana and Lionel were great and super attentive. The tour and boat ride (Leialoha) was amazing and pretty fun. Learned a bit of history on the Nā Pali Coast and saw some spinner dolphins. Lunch and drinks were provided, and I dont know if the snorkeling made me hungry, but the roast beef sandwich was pretty good. All in all, the experience was worth it and will definitely come back. Saw dolphins, baby dolphins, sea lions, turtles, goats, and lots of fishes! Loved every single moment of this tour!!! Just a fantastic experience all around. Captain Shawn and Kaiao from Makana Charters were amazing. Incredibly professional, knowledgeable and just plain fun. Great guys really took care of everyone and made sure we all had a great time. They were very vigilant and patient for the snorkeling part and made sure they watched everyone on the water and always felt 100% safe. Was the highlight of our trip - couldn’t recommend them any more!!! Mahalo to the team at Makana

We were on a tour with Makana Charters on August 5. We had a wonderful time. The crew was fantastic- very friendly and knowledgeable. They were particularly thoughtful with my mother-in-law, who has mobility issues. (She was just along for the boat ride- no snorkeling.) They made sure that she was comfortable and safe. Captain Rob was very skillful at getting our boat in and out of the sea caves and we loved the snorkeling. Highly recommend Makana!

My wife and I spent a day with Captain A’ alona and first mate Jamie on a 16 person boat cruise on their Seika I Boat traveling the Na Pali coast of Kauai. Without a doubt the best part of our trip, The caves , coastline, Vistas and the snorkeling were all great memories but what made Makana Charters the right choice was doing it with these two very special guides. We chose this one over the others because it is owned and run by local Hawaiians and it proved to be the right choice. Their knowledge of the history of each of the places we visited on the coast made it authentic and interesting but they’re also long time locals who know the waters, the people and the recent history of the activities, movies made and military activity in the area around the N.A. Paul coast. They’re also pretty entertaining so we enjoyed hanging out with them for the five hours we’re all together in the boat. during the snorkeling we saw a very active coral reef and probably 5 or 6 turtles swimming al around us. The caves were especially cool because A’alona was skilled at getting right up in them and lastly the dolphins in that area are super active so we were able to hang out and film them putting in a show for us. Easy check in process. Provided sandwiches , chips and drinks. Captain was also our main tour guide. Ge had three staff with him who were very sociable and friendly. We were given up close views of the coast and the caves. Snorkeling was fun, though we only saw three types of fish and not a lot of them. Weather was stunning. We really enjoyed our trip. Well organised.

Fun and exciting. Wonderful staff. Felt safe in the wavy seas. Got up close with waterfalls and cliffs and dolphins. Fun snorkling. All in all a great few hour seeing the island from the sea. We took the morning tour when the seas as are calmer.

Liliana and Jasmine were the absolute best people. They made this experience a really great one and made sure everyone was being safe. Saw dolphins along the way. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who can handle the waves of the Na Pali coast.

We were on the Amelia for an afternoon Napali trip. The boat holds 36, and it was sold out. Parking and check in were explained in detail in their emails and proved simple and efficient. The captain and crew were exceptional and the trip was perfect. We skimmed the shore line along the cliffs and he even took us into a sea cave. They made it clear that snorkeling was not guaranteed and depended on conditions. We did get to snorkel and they made the experience perfect. The provided sandwiches were perfect and created a picnic experience right in the snorkeling cove. We spotted dolphins and got to see flying fish as they tried to elude some tuna. A truly great experience!
