We had a wonderful time! The crew took very good care of everyone and made sure we all have a good time. The scenery is absolutely amazing. We were also lucky enough to see many humpback whales and tons of dolphins.

This charter was exactly what I was looking for. The 2 gentlemen (I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember their names) were very knowledgeable, fun, and friendly. My family of 6 really enjoyed the ride up the beautiful NaPali coast. We saw whales and pods of dolphins, which came up to the boat. The caves were amazing, and the views of the shore were beautiful. Lunch: deli sandwiches, chips, sodas, and water. The boat also had a restroom! I highly recommend Makana Charters.

We had a great trip with Makana on the Na Pali Kai III.. The captain was very engaging and knowledgeable. The mates on the boat were great providing a lot of history and general information about the Na Pali Coast. It was really rough with wind, however, the captain made it as smooth as possible and the larger boat helped avoid the pounding in the rough swells. He also took a chance based on his weather knowledge to go further north than normal, so that we got to see the entire coastline. It was too rough to snorkel, but we really went on this as a sightseeing cruise, anyway. We saw several whales at a distance and were lucky enough to encounter a large pod of spinner dolphins . We stayed with them for quite some time. It was great!! I would highly recommend this company!

We waited 3 years to actually get to use our excursion. We received it as a gift from our adult children Christmas 2022. For several unavoidable reasons we scheduled and cancelled 2 times before we actually made it. The staff allowed us to still participate 3 years later without any additional charges. Our boat crew was awesome. Captain Rob and Lionel and Mya was helpful kind educated. We had a great time and hope to be back with our adult kids

Such a lovely tour all-around! Our Captain Shawn (who has mad boating skills) and deck hands Elijah and Ethan were so kind, helpful, and set a wonderfully fun vibe for the trip. Got to learn a lot about the Nā Pali coast, history of Kaua’i and the wildlife! We saw a bunch of whales too!!

Wonderful trip on the Amelia K!! The weather cooperated and the sea was like glass allowing us to experience the sea caves. The crew were fantastic and took great care to make sure we had a wonderful time. Didn’t see any sea turtles but did have the spinner dolphins follow along with the boat and were lucky enough to see some humpback whales and a very new baby!!

Great family owned business and had an amazing experience seeing the Na Pali coast. Saw over 10 humpback whales too. Usually get seasick but didn’t feel a thing on the Amelia K. Highly recommend!

The boat was great/ roomy.. the staff was top notch very personable and the tour was amazing … the napali coast was beautiful… we wish we had more interaction w/ whale watching - if windy it can be a rough ride going against current/wind, so be prepared with Dramamine

We took a trip on the Na Pali Kai III from Waimea up the coast. The crew was awesome, always talking to passengers and giving awesome bits of knowledge. I learned one of the crew (sorry I forgot your name!) had done a Hawaiian immersion program in college and was now involved in advocacy for native Hawaiian land reform. The music the other crew member picked was awesome, too! My only complaint was the ride back to port seemed very long, and of course it was rougher by then but obviously that's just how it is. Don't expect snorkeling in the winter, it's just too rough and visibility will probably be poor.
