We had an amazing adventure with Captain Makana and crew! We liked that it is a smaller boat and were able to get right up to the caves. We saw whales and also got to hear them through the hydro mic. Everyone was kind and professional.

Four of us took this trip on 2/13/26 and we all agreed it was the BEST part of the week. Captain Makana (spelling?), Tony and Elijah were awesome and we all agreed they really made the trip something special. I suggest you wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet because I got to stand under a waterfall and got DRENCHED, and while the water was a bit rough and a shark was sighted by the snorkel spot, Makana was able to bring us swimming instead. We saw dolphins, the shark, some goats, and more whales than we saw on our whale watch in Maui, including a full breach! I would do this tour 1000 more times, it is now a must for any time we are in Kauai. The coast is absolutely gorgeous, the crew was friendly, funny and knowledgeable and the lunch and drinks provided were just the cherry on top. Highly, highly recommended!!

Great experience! Crew was terrific and shared so much history and fascinating information about the incredible NaPali coastline. Unfortunately we had pretty rough seas on our trip which diminished the whale watching but they made every effort to give us a good tour. Structure of the boat makes photo opportunities a bit tricky - advise right side of boat seating for best views.

The Makana boat tour was amazing! I highly recommend it. Seeing the island from the boat was whole new unforgettable experience! Everyone should do it. The crew was great and very informative about what we’re were seeing. Do it if you can!

What a great time. our Captain Shawn and Lionel were awesome. So knowledgeable about the Napali coast and the history of Polynesian culture. We did sight several whales breaching but they were busy underwater that day. Highly recommend this activity when in Kuaui. Thank you for a fantastic experience.

This tour was absolutely amazing! The staff were incredible, funny and informative. We saw multiple humpbacks and schools of spinner dolphins. We were brought into a cave and (optionally) soaked by a natural waterfall, and had a great light lunch. I would absolutely recommend this tour for an Oceanside breathtaking view of the Na Pali coastline.
