Amazing captain! With a great crew! Locals who know the rich and meaningful history of the napali coast and the island itself! 30 years of boat experience, and can tell by the way the captain controlled the boat through the seas! Would book again!

My wife and I booked this on our honeymoon. The captain and crew were wonderful. A few folks became seasick, but the captain did his best to reduce the vessel’s sway despite the chop. We snorkeled for a bit and saw a sea turtle underwater. It was so cool. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a little adventure in Kauai. I would also recommend following their advice and having a light breakfast or meal before boarding.

What a trip! The Amelia K was fantastic with a welcoming crew, fun and energetic. The snorkeling location was filled with fish and turtles. The crew was able to push us into sea caves and under waterfalls under the skilled talents of Captain Mike. Awesome day and highly recommend the gentlemen at Makana charters and tours.

What an amazing time our group of 5 had today! Our captain ‘A’ā and his co-captain Ethan made the excursion even better. We loved the knowledge they shared which was very educational as well as their sense of humour. We got to see the beauty of the Napali Coast, the sea caves, a pod of spinner dolphins and a blue whale. We were so grateful a passenger spotted the dolphins and ‘A’ā turned around so we could see them up close. As well as Ethan spotting the blue whale and ‘A’ā bringing us in to get a closer look. It was a highlight of our trip for our family! I highly recommend them.

Wonderful tour! The captain and crew were terrific. The boat had comfortable seats and clean bathrooms. We got right up close to the caves and shore. Beautiful views! We also saw turtles, dolphins, and a humpback whale with her cub at respectful distances. There were seats in the sun or covered shade to choose from. Lunch was simple, but good. Plenty of sodas and water to stay hydrated. Bring a jacket! I liked the small group size too.

Makana Charters is the best!! Capt. Mike and the crew were top notch professionals. They are all native Kauain’s who share so much history and knowledge with you on the tour. You get closer to the Napali coast and actually in caves which I didn’t expect on a catamaran. Even when my partner was sick, they were caring and considerate. We did not go on the tour we paid for because we missed our connecting flight the day before and did not arrive in Kauai till the middle of the day of the tour so we were unable to go on the tour. Makana Charters did agree to a partial refund (50%) which was appreciated. Makana Charters did teach out to make the situation more palatable than losing all of the money paid for this excursion.

This was top 3 life experiences for me! Makana Charters Napali Coast tour was absolutely phenomenal. Logistics were 100% easy to book, easy to find the location, and a smooth process to get onboard. Me and my best friend had an incredible time - from hearing the history of the coast, seeing HUMPBACK WHALES (was incredible!!), spotting a couple rainbows along the way, and being able to snorkel in such an incredible location! The tour was the highlight of our Kauai trip, and I would 100% recommend it to anyone looking to experience the beauty of Kauai! It was my first time snorkeling and the team was so clear on instructions, and it was super fun to face my fear and jump off of the roof of the boat as well! I cannot say enough about how magical and amazing this experience was, and the cherry on top was knowing that we were supporting local Hawaiian business, as the entire tour was conducted by people born and bred on the islands, including the captain! Not to mention, they were all so accommodating, knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly experts at what they do! Truly, a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget and it is worth every single penny! If I'm ever back in Kauai, I will be running to book another tour with Makana!!

The crew was terrific! Mike’s really knows how to control the boat! Lionel and Jasmine are very knowledgeable and friendly! Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate with the low cloud and a couple of rain showers but, as they say, you can’t control the weather! Got some great views in any event and the Dolphins were awesome! Definitely worth it!!

We had an amazing experience on the Na Pali boat tour aboard the Amelia K during our honeymoon in Kauai. The coastline was breathtaking, but the crew truly made the experience unforgettable. The captain and crew were incredible throughout the entire tour. We’re beginners when it comes to snorkeling, and the crew was so patient and helpful in coaching us through everything and making us feel comfortable in the water. They also took photos for us, checked in on everyone often, and kept the atmosphere fun, relaxed, and welcoming the whole time. You can tell the staff genuinely care about giving guests a great experience, and their energy really added to the day. Between the stunning scenery, the snorkeling, and the amazing crew, this ended up being one of the highlights of our Kauai trip. We would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the island.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this company, although I would caution anyone who plans to do this in the winter months. The waves were crazy and almost everyone on the boat was having a tough time while we were touring the coast. The crew did everything they could to help and were wonderful, but know what you're getting into in the winter months. Even though it wasn't possible to snorkle in the regular spot, the crew found a safe place for us to get in the water and took us whale watching as well. Great company!

The very best! My daughter and I both agree that our trip on the Amelia K was the best of our week on Kauai. The captain and his crew were amazing. They were friendly and interacted with everyone, We had so much time along the beautiful coast line. If we could have, we would have booked another trip before we went back home. But they were full up! Take this trip! You wouldn't want to miss such an adventure.
