Captain “AhAh” and fist mate Asia, did a phenomenal job on our charter boat ride!! Knowledgeable, funny and sarcastic but also serious about the historical significance of their islands. We had a great trip out along the Na Pali Coast and enjoyed snorkeling, waterfalls and cave exploring.

We went out on the Seiko with A A and AJ. We toured the caves and learned a lot about the history and culture of the island and surrounding islands. Highly recommend this tour. One of the best excursions we booked. And if you can get on with the guides we went with even better.

I’ve previously used Captain Andy’s for Na Pali Coast cruise and while I liked that, I loved Makana Charters even more. Makana was the only charter I could find that would accommodate my physically disabled father on board (uses two canes). There’s a short shuttle from the meetup location to the dock. They proactively allowed us to stay in our own car and park at the dock to accommodate my father. I didn’t ask for this - they just did it! I really appreciated it. The cruise itself was amazing and our captain has amazing sailing skills to poke our heads into sea caves. The deckhands were very friendly and kept things lively.The boat itself ran smoothly and I was impressed with how it was able to take on the swells and wind on the way back to port. Never felt sea sick. Very clean and well cared for boat. Would highly recommend! I’m so grateful they were able to take my father onboard because the Na Pali coast is something I really hope he could witness. :) great company!

My wife and I just finished our coastal charter (09-11-25) and all I say is that it was amazing! The crew and captain were absolutely phenomenal, professional, and enthusiastic. lunch was provided and the captain stopped multiple times showing us the sea turtles, coves, and also got to snorkel. If anyone is hesitant on which charter to go with, make sure book with Makana charters. You will not be disappointed.

Makana Charters is a must for any trip to Kauai. Captain Mike, Lilliana, and Lionel know how to do a boat tour. Not only are they knowledgeable of all the sights and locale (Hawaii being in their blood, after all), and provide snorkling gear for a little up-close-and-personal aquatic visits, but they are beyond hospitable and personable.
