At your preselected time, meet the rest of your group in downtown Tromso. Board the coach and settle in for the journey out of Tromso and into the Arctic countryside. Upon arrival at the reindeer camp, meet your herder-guide and the animals. Take the opportunity to feed the reindeer under the guide's supervision. Afterward, board a sled pulled by reindeer and embark upon a thrilling ride across the snow. Next, it's time to head inside the cozy lavvu. Warm up with a hot drink as you hear stories about the culture of the indigenous Sámi people. Savor a delicious meal of traditional Sámi soup (bidos) and cake as your hosts introduce you to the joik. Afterward, return to Tromso, where your tour concludes with a drop-off back at the original departure point.

Enjoy your half-day tour as you invited by Sámi people to partake in their traditions. This tour takes you to a reindeer camp outside of Tromso, where you meet the animals, feed them, and then embark on a sled ride. Afterward, you gather insider a lavvu (traditional Sámi dwelling) for a delicious meal with enlightening conversation about the indigenous people of Northern Norway and to hear joik (traditional song).

Tromsø Arctic Reindeer Experience is a complete Sami Reindeer experience carried out by traditional Sami Reindeer Herders within a 30 minute drive of Tromsø. We offer a number of packages but with all you will be hosted by Reindeer herders who will show and teach you about Reindeer herding and Sami culture. We have thousands of reindeer in the mountains and a herd of around 200 Reindeer at the camp so you are guaranteed to experience the joy of being close to these wonderful creatures, the feeling of coming into a warm lavvu (Sami tent) and the sounds of the traditional joik (Sami singing). This is a ritual which for us is an important way of life and it is our pleasure and aim to let you feel and experience it. We look forward to welcoming you.
