If you love scenery, wildlife, and the ocean, sprinkled with history and culture, you’ll love this trip! You will see sections of roadless coastline and hear about the Hawaiian villages that were once there. If you’re on the smaller boats, your skilled captain will back your boat inside the cliff caves! Captain and chief storyteller A’a was the best! Plus you get an opportunity to jump in the sea (or snorkel if conditions are good). Highly recommend!

We couldn’t have had a more perfect day experiencing the beautiful Nā Pali coast! The team at Makana Charters is incredible. The history they share adds to the experience and they make sure everyone is enjoying it. The boat is very cool and gives people options for different places to stand/sit. I highly recommend them for a memorable way to see this part of Kauai.

This Na Pali Coast tour was just amazing! Makana Charters is native Hawaiian owned so it was awesome to support a local business!! We had the pleasure of having Shawn and Kai as our captain and crew member on Seiko II. The best uncle/nephew duo out there. They were both so funny, kind, and made this experience unforgettable! They made sure everyone felt super safe and comfortable throughout the whole tour! We loved how they shared history about the island with us as well!! We saw so many dolphins, got close to the caves, and got to swim out in the beautiful clear waters! Booking and communication before the trip was easy and stress free. Check-in was quick as well! All in all would recommend this tour company to anybody and I will definitely be coming back!! We love you guys!

It was a very nice tour. The captain did his best to stop whenever he saw the sea life, including dolphins and whales. We came close to the Na Pali Coast but did not go around because of the surf. We did stop by for snorkeling by the reef which was great. The crew was very nice and knowledgeable and explained a lot about our what we were seeing. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that for 1/3 of the tour the music was blasting as our 2 tour guides tried to speak about whatever we were seeing and we couldn't hear a thing. Later on they had microphones which was much better. All in all a very nice experience.

Great tour. Perfect boat size. Shawn our captain was very knowledgeable and funny. Took very good care of our group of 6. Scenery unbelievable. Snorkeling was some of the best I’ve done. Seiko boats are a thrill. Dolphin interaction with the boat was really amazing. Plus, you get to jump off the roof of the boat-so great. Super fun. Thanks!

Absolutely wonderful experience!! Seeing the Nāpali coast was amazing but the crew was what really made the trip enjoyable. From the moment we parked our car we were met like long time friends. Crew was extremely knowledgeable of the history and extremely easy to talk to about anything. Glad we found Makana Charters, truly wouldn’t have wanted to go with anyone else!

Staff was great. Boat trip was ok. Snorkeling cancelled due to weather and we had to turn back early because some on the boat were very sick with motion sickness. Overall, glad everyone is ok but it was a let down portion of our trip.

Beautiful views, but probably won’t do it again. Very bumpy ride, motion sickness pills do not help here. Expensive parking lot at the dock. Paid for parking but still got a ticket.

We had such a great experience on our tour aboard the Amelia K! Everything was so organized and the crew (Captain Mike, Lionel and Ethan) were so knowledgeable and kind. The landscape was gorgeous and getting to see the coast so close up was definitely a memorable part of a trip. I recommend doing the afternoon tour as we caught a beautiful sunset at the end.
