Our family enjoyed seeing all the wildlife on our way to the Na Pali coastline. The mother humpback with her new calf was a highlight, but we also saw turtles, goats and monk seals, a real bonus. Of course the coastline was as beautiful as ever!

Capt. Mike and crew were incredible. We did a Na’Pali coast tour aboard the Amelia K. Crew and boat were top notch. Ocean swells were real but we were comfortable the entire time. Crew was funny, informative while being safety and comfort focused. Captain Mike put us on two large dolphin pods and a humpback whale siting. In high seas, we got up close to caves under a water fall. I have done several of these tours, Makana Charters was the best by far.

It was an amazing trip! We were able to see a mother humpback whale and her new calf up close. Even though the weather was not perfect, the scenery was spectacular. The crew was wonderful and very knowledgeable of the area and took very good care of us.

This is NOT just another boat tour! The history and beauty of of Na Pali area are as spectacular as the care of the staff on board to share their love of their state and their island. Special attention is made to show you wildlife in the area and to give tribute to their ancestors. They provide interesting information about the area and can answer any question you ask. Would recommend you new and previous visitors to the island. Don’t miss it!

We had an incredible experience with Makana Charters. The day started out rainy and we weren’t sure how it would turn out. It ended up being absolutely beautiful!! The crew was so sweet! They took care of every comfort we needed and made a special effort to share stories about the island. The boat Na Pali Kai III was very comfortable and we felt safe the entire time. Captain Mike was very experienced and he knew where to go to see dolphins, whales, and good snorkeling spot. On the ride back, it was an exciting way to ride the waves! Mahalo!

Our private tour on the Seiko 1 was perfect!! 4 adults and 4 older teens. Captain A’a and Kana were extremely knowledgeable, funny, friendly and helpful. The water was too rough and visibility poor so no snorkeling but the sun came out and the boys sunbathed, jumped off the top of the boat, and found a couple whales on the way home. The Na pali coast is truly a once in a lifetime place to visit I can’t recommend this tour enough. As for captain A’a and Kana.

We just returned from a great boat ride on the NaPali coast. We saw two large pods of dolphins, two whales and the beautiful coastline as close as the boat could go. The staff was attentive to all the passengers and made sure we saw all the sites.

Captain Mike and his crew provided an amazing experience touring the NaPali Coast on the Amelia K. The views of this primitive, and mostly inaccessible, coast from the sea were breathtaking. The crew's deep connections to the area, going back hundreds of years, really resonated in their storytelling. We spent a week cruising the Hawaiian Islands and this was by far our favorite adventure.

We went on the afternoon boat tour yesterday on the Amelia K, with our boys age 9 and 11. It was our first time doing this type of excursion and it was so much fun with breathtaking views of the coast. Bonus seeing some dolphins, sea turtles, a humpback mom and baby, and a missile launch from the base. Kids had a blast being at the front of the boat catching waves. Captain Makana and his crew were super knowledgeable and experienced, they were very prepared to make sure everyone was safe and having a good time! We were too early for swimming and snorkeling (starts May 1st), so we will be back again! Happy to support a local family-owned business!

Fully met expectations, all upfront instructions and agenda review were clear. Guides very accommodating entertaining the children on board. If possible, improve speaker acoustics toward the front of the boat.
