I highly recommend booking with Makana Charters. Staff was professional, friendly, and made us feel safe during the Napali Coast tour. The tour was definitely intense, but we got to see some whales and the Napali Coast was absolutely beautiful. Book this tour if it's your first time In Kauai!

We had an amazing afternoon with Makana Charters. Our captains name was also Makana, which made it easy to remember. Unlike his two helpers. The sights of the Napoli coast were incredible. We went into a couple caves. We saw a whale. The crew was very knowledgeable of the area and answered all our questions. We also enjoyed the light lunch that was provided.

Unreliable. Booked several weeks in advance for an afternoon tour of Napali in their Seiko vessel which holds 16 passengers. They called the day before the tour as a courtesy to let me know they have not met the minimum for the tour to proceed the next day but they will get back with me if the tour is cancelled. I called the morning of the tour for an update, they told me they met the minimum and the tour will proceed as scheduled. A few minutes later, I got a call from them again telling me the vessel now has a mechanical issue so the morning tour is delayed, and that our tour in the afternoon is cancelled. We received a refund but we were so disappointed; thankfully, another company, Holo Holo Charters was able to get us in at the last minute for their afternoon tour.

Fabulous tour! Loved that we were able to go partly inside the sea caves AND saw some dolphins - a truly unique experience! I am prone to seasickness, but I popped a Dramamine beforehand and was great! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and entertaining; my only suggestion is to turn up the speakers as sometimes it was difficult to hear the fun facts because of the wind. Bring a light jacket, apply sunscreen, and wear your baseball hat backwards or bring a hat with a strap.

We took the morning Napali Coast Snorkeling tour on the Na Pali Kai III. It was incredible. The views were amazing. You get so close to the shoreline. Although we didn't get to enter the sea caves due to ocean swells, the captain did a wonderful job getting us close. We also saw a pod of Spinner Dolphins that we stopped and watched while they swam around the boat. So magical. The boat staff were great too. They offered all sorts of picture opportunities, suggestions for things to do around the island and more. I highly recommend this tour and this company!

Highlight of our trip. Crew were professional, knowledgeable and entertaining. Despite it being a little bumpy out there the boat itself was incredibly comfortable and stable.

Absolutely the best! Very attentive staff, full of stories of Hawaii, very engaging & fun! I specifically chose this company due to it being advertised as Hawaiian owned and Hawaiian history told of the island on the boat. They did a fantastic job with that. They backed into caves and stopped over a reef for us to snorkel and swim! Saw a sea turtle and lots of beautiful fish. Also had the opportunity to have dolphins swimming right next to the boat and see pods of them swimming nearby. Saw whales blow in the distance. The boat captain went out into the ocean as close as he could to see whales. All this and so much more! The Napali coast was absolutely awe inspiring! Lots of history told of it. We even saw some people hiking the steep cliff sides. All in all it was fantastic! Highly recommend them!

Amazing experience!! All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming from start to finish. The tour was very in depth and captain makana was excellent controlling the boat. He took us into places I couldn't believe a boat could make it into and showed us so many cool parts of the coast line. Definitely recommend this charter.

10/10 no notes. Seriously incredible experience! Captain Rob, Elijah, and Lily were amazing. Elijah was super knowledgeable and shared some fascinating history with us. Captain Rob went inside caves, handled the boat flawlessly, and got us to a perfect snorkeling spot. We saw whales and dolphins which was a blast. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our tour of the NaPali coast with makana charters! All of the crew were knowledgeable, friendly, and prioritized our safety throughout the boat tour and snorkel portion. They were really accommodating and communicative. I would highly recommend them!
