We did the Na Pali Coast tour today May 6th 2pm with Captain Mike, and crew Tony and Jasmine. Spectacular, amazing experience from the snorkeling right off the bat all the way through the trip down the coast line, stopping in caves and getting wet in one the waterfalls. Captain Mike, Tony, and Jasmine had amazing stories and facts/history to share and were truly the most friendly people you'll meet. They love what they do and they'll make you fall deeper in love with Kauai. Thanks for an amazing experience, we loved it! I vow to do one of these tours on each future trip to Kauai. I do not know much but I know I need to come back to this paradise of an Island! Aloha and mahalo 🙏🥹😍

We had the best crew, the most fantastic weather and a healthy measure of luck. Seeing humpback whales was awesome. We loved snorkeling. The Napali Coast was an experience of a life time. Our guides made sure everything went well.

The Makana team was amazing and provided an incredible day! They were very nice and very entertaining. They also went out of their way to allow us to see dolphins and whales which made the boat ride so much better! I would absolutely recommend booking a tour with them!

Highly recommend Makana Charters! We had an absolutely wonderful private charter experience, exploring the incredible scenery of the Na Pali coast, and spreading ashes for a heartfelt celebration of life at sea. Our guides were Kana and Bri, and they really made the whole trip extra special from the second we stepped up to the dock. They were so fun and friendly, down to earth, very knowledgeable of the area and history, and very thoughtful and respectful of our celebration. We could not have asked for a better charter, a better crew, or a better day. The entire tour was incredible. They took us in caves, pointed out wildlife, shared stories and legends of the lands, and really made sure we got the full experience. We cannot thank you guys enough for making our charter so special. Absolutely recommend booking a tour with Makana Charters on your visit to Kauai!!

This tour was absolutely amazing! Captain Mike and crew were so kind, knowledgeable and gracious! My husband got sea sick and they were so helpful and accommodating. This tour is breathtaking and so special. We got to swim with dolphins! It is a must book! 🩷

Makana Tours was a great way to see NaPali Coast. The crew was great, Makana was a phenomenal Captain and had beautiful control of the boat to take us into the caves on the coast. This was a great trip and well worth the cost.

Wow! What an amazing experience we had with Makana Charters! We started off snorkeling with some beautiful fish and a sea turtle, then headed towards the Na Pali Coast. Along the way we saw tons of spinner dolphins (some doing their thing... spinning!), another sea turtle and the most incredible views you can imagine! The sea was a little too rough to get inside the caves, etc., but Captain Kana kept us safe and got us up nice and close for a great experience. We can't say enough good things about this company and our awesome crew Kana and Rhi! Thank you for making this one of the highlights of our trip to Kauai. :)

Boat crew and boat were excellent, the trip was great. The booking experience not so much. Booked on the smaller of 2 boats in August for a trip in April only to have them cancel 10 days before trip. Moved us to the larger boat at same price, ok seems fair. Told smaller boat had to undergo a coast gaurd inspection. Then had to re-sign waivers, only to be canceled again the day before the trip and have to rebook and re-sign waivers a third time. Ok but maybe don't send that boat "that needs inspection " out with a private group RIGHT NEXT TO THE BOAT YOU MOVE US TO. Again tip and crew were excellent, just stop office staff from misleading costumer. Addendum 05/13/26. Was contacted by company the day the original review posted asking me to give them a call, and pointing out that the have 2 smaller boats NOT just the one that was being inspected. This explains that part of the mix up. I am not seeking anything from the company as the trip itself was as stated excellent. The 2nd cancelation and re-booking the day before, while I'm standing in line at another tour was still less than a 100% 5 star. Once more the trip itself was EXCELLENT.

We had a great time on the Amelia K with Captain Mike and his crew Charlie and Lily. Captain Mike was able to spot a large pod (couple hundred) spinner dolphins from a large distance away (because in his words “I am sure you are probably as good at your job, just like I am at mine!) :-) And the staff was very knowledgeable about the dolphins. While the snorkeling wasn’t the greatest (limited sea life in the area) the water was refreshing and jumping off the boat was great! At one point Captain Mike took us “out of our comfort zones, but not out of his!” (His words) right up to a cave entry point. Which was amazing! And he was able to adjust the boat just right so that we could get a view of a beautiful rainbow through a waterfall.. And while distracted by that.. he proceeded to maneuver the boat under the waterfall! So so cool! His knowledge of the history and ability to point out various areas along the beautiful Napali coast was vast, which enriched our experience. We had an awesome time! Thank you

This was an amazing experience! The captain and crew were so attentive, friendly and informative! Stopped several times to allow us to watch the dolphins. Even saw a couple of whales. Highly recommend Makana Tours!
