Best boat trip ever. Captain Rob and his crew were very nice and helpful, and you could tell that they love their job. We saw turtles, dolphins, and seals. We drove really close to the coast and into caves. The landscape is simply indescribably beautiful and definitely worth seeing.

We had an absolutely amazing experience with Makana Charters! This was my first time ever on a boat, and we happened to go out on a day with a small craft advisory, so I was definitely nervous about the waves. Captain Tim was incredible, though. Even when the waves looked enormous and we were heading straight toward them, he handled the boat so well that I felt safe the entire trip. The Nā Pali Coast is breathtaking, but what made the experience even better was everything we got to see and learn along the way. The crew shared stories about the history of the coastline and the Hawaiian communities that once lived there, pointed out wildlife, and took us into a sea cave where we went underneath a waterfall for a Hawaiian blessing. Such a fun and memorable experience! One of the biggest highlights was finding a huge pod of spinner dolphins, including babies jumping and flipping out of the water. We also saw sea turtles and stopped over a reef to snorkel. It was not only my first time snorkeling, but my first time actually getting into the ocean! I was nervous and had a hard time catching my breath at first, but the water was incredibly clear, and seeing the colorful fish and reef below us was amazing. The crew took great care of everyone throughout the trip, provided a really good lunch and plenty of drinks, and made the whole experience fun and relaxed. Even the wild ride back through the waves became part of the adventure! We had already seen the Nā Pali Coast from a helicopter, but seeing it from the water was an entirely different experience and absolutely worth doing. I would highly recommend Makana Charters and Captain Tim to anyone visiting Kauaʻi. As one of our deckhands said throughout the trip, "Best day ever!" And it really was pretty close! 🌺🌊🐬

I was a little motion sick and they were so attentive .My sister in law feel and they immediately put an ice pack on her. The crew was full of information to share . They were so entertaining and u could tell they enjoyed their jobs.

This was a must tour for visitors. The boat was clean, plenty of room, comfortable seating. The staff were friendly and just great people. The captain did a very impressive job of maneuvering the boat into very tight spaces to give us an amazing view close up.

The Nepali coastline was stunningly beautiful. The crew was absolutely wonderful. They gave us a running history of the sights they brought us to. They joked with us and made sure we were happy and comfortable. The captain was highly skilled in handling the boat. We felt like family while aboard. You cannot go wrong with this company. What an experience on the Na Pali Kai III. Makana’s communication from registration up to the day of the sail is excellent. Their instructions for getting to the port and parking are easy to understand. The price is extremely reasonable considering how truly amazing the sail is. I don’t know anything about boating, but Captain Bob was so impressive in active water and guiding that boat like driving a car on land, it was amazing - not to mention he’s just a good, down to earth guy. Nikki was also really impressive and shared so much info about Kaua’i and the other islands. I would 100% do this sail again with Makana specifically, and would absolutely say this is a must for anyone visiting Kaua’i!
