Had a lot of fun on this tour of the Napoli Coast checking out some unreal scenery. There were lots of dolphins in the morning as well as some goats on the Napoli coast cliffs. The entire crew on 9/17/25 did a great job making sure everyone had a fun and memorable time. I would highly recommend Makana Charters for anyone thinking about doing the Napoli Coast tour.

Captains boat handling skills were legendary, as was the hospitality and comedy show provided by the two deck hands! Really enjoyed all three of the 3 amigos and the way they took care of us on the high seas! hats off to Bob, Adam, and Leroy!Knowledgeable, friendly, safe and very entertaining. BEST ACTIVITY IN KAUAI!! My boyfriend and I had an absolute blast. The instructions to arrive were crystal clear and we had no issues. As we arrived we were greeted by the sweetest host who answered all of our questions and explained what to do. As the captain arrived, he was so personable and explained how the day would go in depth. This was followed by a quick but thorough safety briefing. We made our way to the boat where we boarded choosing our own seats. The captain then provided us with an even more in depth briefing and safety precautions that are in place. The rest of the trip was absolutely wonderful. They played amazing music and had a great attitude. The captain went in depth about the history of Kauai which we really appreciated. The whole crew reassured us and made us feel incredibly safe. One of the crew members in particular, Ethan, was the highlight of this experience. He was always helping everyone on board and was a great source of entertainment. When it came time to swim the crew and captain offered us goggles, snorkels, and floaties which was the icing on the cake. It truly was like nothing we had experienced. To top it off, we were able to see a completed double rainbow. The crew was nice enough to stop and take everyone’s picture; never rushing us and not making the tour feel like a moneymaking stunt . I would highly highly recommend this for anyone trying to see the Nāpali coast.

This is our second time taking a tour with Makana Charters and we will go back to them every time! They know so much history about the island and are so good at including people in the conversations. Ethan, Elijah, and Sean were great guides. Always checking on everyone’s safety and answering anyone’s questions. Keeping everyone entertained with dancing, singing, and conversing! We will be back for sure!!

My wife and I were celebrating our 35th anniversary the day we went out with Makana (Captain), Ethan, and Lil. They made a great team and the trip fantastic! Makena did an amazing job of pointing out sites and historical facts. Ethan was the best entertainer! He kept the vibe strong and positive with his playlist of music, dancing and singing, and knowledge of the islands history. Lil was a great host as well making sure everyone was comfortable and answering questions about the island. The whole team was also very aware of safety during the trip. They provided constant reminders of the safety brief and knew exactly when to step in and provide additional guidance on riding in a boat on waves. We had an amazing time because of this team!! Mahalo, Mahalo!!

I had a very memorable experience on the na pali coast tour with Makana charters . The crew members were very kind and attentive and I felt very comfortable. The ocean is rough at times but not horrible on the boat . We saw dolphins , and while snorkeling saw turtles and fishes too. It is very well worth the money based on the memories created. Priceless trip and thanks to Makana charters for giving us a memorable experience!

This was, without a doubt, one of the favorite things my wife and I did while in Kauai. We were on Seiko 2 with Elijah & Makana, and they made the tour so great with their knowledge of the island. The knowledge was also supplemented with their own personal experiences, which helped us feel even more connected to the island and all the people who live here. The caves were incredible, and we were able to see some dolphins and sea turtles along the way. They are both excellent captains, and we felt safe the entire time on the boat. Highly recommend this company if you are in Kauai and looking for a unique way to see the Napali Coast.

We had the amazing opportunity to experience the Na Pali Coast with Makana Charters. Cpt. Sean (Shawn, I’m so sorry I didn’t ask how it was spelled!!) and Kai were extremely gracious stewards for us and the rest of the passengers. Both are Kaua’i born and raised, and we are so grateful that they spent the day sharing their home with us. The boat & ride were extremely comfortable with both sun and shade if desired. Lunch was provided along with plenty of liquids in the community Yeti. Our crew had multiple stops on the ride and were happy to help with any photo taking that was requested. They also had many snorkel spots to take us to and chose ours based on safety, as it was their top priority. After swimming at the base of the Na Pali cliffs, we went to deeper water so we could do some diving off the top deck of the Seiko 2. Their knowledge of the island was our favorite part of the experience. After going to the HQ to pick up some merch (please make a pink hat, and I will buy it asap!!) we learned that Makana Charters is a family owned, local business. Being able to support and benefit from amazing outfitters like Makana made our Kaua’i trip a life-long memory. I cannot thank Sean and Kai and the Makana family enough for the time you gave us. Sorry I don’t have more photos (I took mostly videos and mental photos). Thank you so so much and we will see you again on our next trip!!!

Great experience overall. Captain Sean, Elijah and Ethan were all great and fun but still were very professional and performed their duties excellently. My wife and I would 100% do this cruise again. Dramamime was very helpful for this and would 1000% recommend bringing along.
