Fantastic tour with father and son guides who provided a lot of cultural knowledge along with the Napali coast lore.

One of the most amazing experiences in my life. We were a wedding party and the whole tour was absolutely magical and the perfect way to end seeing our friends and family on our trip. We saw dolphins, incredible views. The captains were sooo knowledgeable about everything we were seeing on the coast - I learned so much. We also swam at sunset, since the weather was clear. It was amazing. The captain and crew were so thoughtful, helpful, and kind and fun to hang with. Lunch was great. They also had a bathroom on the boat which was super convenient. 1000/10 will absolutely tour again with these guys! And they took amazing pics of everyone!

What a fun trip! The crew was awesome, knowledgeable, and fun to be around. We saw so many beautiful spots along the coast. The spinner dolphins were amazing. The caves were spectacular and the scenery was unbeatable. Highly recommend!

We did the Na Pali coast tour on the Amelia K on October 7, 2025 and had a wonderful time! The crew contacted us several times beforehand so that we knew exactly where to go and what to expect. Once we met the crew, they could not have been nicer or more helpful. You could tell that they loved the area and shared their knowledge of its history and culture. The scenery was amazing, the provided lunch and beverages were very good, we had the opportunity to snorkel or just hang out in the water and we saw THREE pods of dolphins! Highly recommend this tour.

Lilly, Rob and Lionel were so fun and professional. Constantly checking on everyone’s needs more than most highly accommodating restaurants(I’d know my mom dad girlfriend and myself are all/were servers). Such a unique experience I couldn’t recommend enough. I get sea sick super easy can usually ruin my day. Dramamine was a great help but the boat sails so smooth it may not be necessary for some. Keep that in mind I almost didn’t book because how easily sick I get and it never even hit me!

We went out of the Na Pali Kai III on the September 30 morning tour and had the best time. The crew was absolutely fantastic, the views were stunning. Had a great lunch of a deli sandwich, chips and soft drinks and water. Conditions didn't allow for cave entry or snorkeling but we were allowed to jump in the water for a little while. We saw dozens of dolphins. We even saw a military plane take off from the base and a helicopter that looked like it was carrying a missile(last two pics). The crew shared lots of stories of Kaua’i history.

Our entire experience with Makana Charters was wonderful. They were amazing with our two boys, they took safety as the upmost priority, and kept us entertained during our tour.

Our guides were fantastic, knowledgeable, all around engaging throughout. I appreciated their knowledge of the many years of history the west coast has. Swimming optional but water nice and warm. Treated to dolphin sitings a few times . These guys and girls are pros with a personal touch. Highly recommended.

We booked this tour last minute and were not disappointed! The boat was very well maintained, the staff were exceptional with great knowledge of the area along with being native to the Island. They provided a fabulous time as well as great safety. I highly recommend Makana Charters!

Our boat tour with Captain Shawn and Kai were a great time. They both provided detailed history of each area we’d pass while on the tour which helped you enjoy the beautiful scenery with even more gratitude. They also had a great sense of humor and had the entire crew laughing while we toured the Ná Pali Coast. There were many great landmarks we got to see, and plenty of wildlife to see as well. It was definitely one of the greatest views of Kaua’i you will find.

I think Ron and his crew did an amazing job. We had a private group go out and got to enjoy the ride. They were up front from the start about weather and other things that could happen. They advised us to do the morning trip. So happy we did. We saw so many dolphins and the water was perfect! (Granted we could not snorkel) We did get to do a deep ocean swim which was just as amazing. Can say we swam with sharks now 😂. (The crew saw one deep underwater 100+ feet so all was good). We had a few people get sea sick and the crew handled them nicely. Would always advise people to go with them ! Thanks again mahalo Stephen

Sean & Kai Ou were amazing! Shared story & knowledge of the Na Pali Coast from a native perspective. So friendly & funny. Was a slightly bumpy ride, but they were extremely supportive of those that got sea sick. 2 out of 16, not bad. They took the boat under a waterfall for us, brought us into a cave (as far as the boat could go), and even caught a fish while coasting at lunch. Extra special. My favorite part was their personal experience and family story they shared. So personal & generous. I 100% reccomend Makana Charters. We rode on Billy w Captain Sean. He’s an amazing Captain, and Kai Ou was very generous as well. The highlight of our trip ❤️

This was the best experience I’ve ever had! Mike and the crew were so much fun to be with and made us feel safe and well cared for. Mike’s depth of knowledge of the island added to the trip- every person who gets to see the Napali Coast and explore Kauai is so lucky to be able to share in the magic of the island and learn about the island’s history/culture from the locals.
