Makana Charters is Native Hawaiian owned and operated. There aren’t many and I highly recommend supporting when you can. Our family of 6 took a morning tour on the Na Pali Kai III with Captain Rob and crew members, Leroy and Tony. Saying they are amazing is an understatement. It was truly the highlight of our trip. Our youngest is 4 with autism and my adult sister-in-law is also autistic with IDD. Everyone was accommodating to our needs starting with my first phone call with questions, down to the tour itself. The Napali Coast is magical and seeing it firsthand gives one a deeper appreciation of the islands and its rich culture. We saw sea caves, movie locations, dolphins and flying fish. The excitement from the crew brought joy to everyone. Makana Charters are genuine people and I would book them again without hesitation.

This tour with Captain Mike of Makana Charters was magical and unforgettable. As a long time Hawaii resident I have been on a variety of tours up the Napali and this was my favorite. The local Hawaiian captain and crew shared their knowledge, skill and culture and their love for Kauai with us all. I learned so much more on this tour about the cultural importance of Nuololo, Kalalau and Milolii. And our catamaran, the Amelia Kai, rides so smoothly and she charges the waves :)) No one got seasick on our tour despite a small swell! Plus we saw a huge pod of spinner dolphins, many seabirds and sea turtles. It was an unforgettable day. Mahalo nui loa Captain Mike, Kana and Eli!

Great day on the water! Captain Mike expertly took us in near the Na’pali coast so close you could almost touch it. Snorkeling was fun and exciting, and even the lunch was fresh and tasty. The crew were very friendly and knowledgeable giving insights all along the trip. A true 5 out of 5!

Great day on the water seeing the spectacular views of Napali Coast. Spinner Dolphins playing, standing on bow getting drenched in a waterfall, snorkeling and jumping off the roof.

We had such a great time on Makana Charters seeing the beautiful the Nā Pali Coast! Captain Sean and Kai were excellent tour guides and captains. Worth every penny! Highly recommend!

Great tour, the staff on the boat was amazing and the weather was great. Had a few issues with trying to register and fill out the online stuff otherwise would have been a 5/5. Bring sunblock or wear longer clothing if you don’t want to cook out there!

Captain and crew were amazing! I would compare this experience as1st Class flying vs economy. The Nepali Coast was stunning! The ocean life was amazing! Lunch sandwiches were delicious and well prepared! Worth every dollar! Highly recommended!

Captain Makana and crew were absolutely fantastic. My wife and I have been on boat excursions in every island vacation we've taken 10+ and the care and interest by the three crew exceeded many of the past excerisons.
