Nagi's Fantastic Food Tour of Hiroshima

Nagi was a fantastic guide who provided a deeper understanding of the food by explaining its origins alongside insightful conversations about Japanese life and culture. This tour offered a unique glimpse into a side of Japan that many tourists miss, making it a must for anyone seeking an authentic slice of the local food scene. The itinerary was diverse and well-paced, featuring several memorable highlights: Trendy Craft Brewery: A surprising find in Japan, offering tasty beers with a local twist paired with excellent snacks. Sake Tasting: An educational session exploring various sake varieties and subtle flavors, accompanied by perfectly paired small dishes. Okonomimura: Our personal favorite was visiting this multi-story building filled with small restaurants, where we enjoyed an incredible meal at a teppanyaki stall.

Excellent Kyoto Gion Night Tour!

We had a wonderful Kyoto Gion Night Tour with Raquel! It turned out to be a private tour as there were no other participants, which made for a super personalised tour 😄 We chose this tour for the traditional kaiseki meal with explanation and guided walk through Gion. Eventhough the price is quite high compared to other options, it certainly was worth every yen. Highly recommended for foodies. Visiting different shops and tasting traditional fooditems was a bonus. Raquel was very knowledgeable on Gion, Geiko life, Japanese etiquette and food while being superfriendly, personable and just lovely 🫶🏼. Never a dull moment, good vibes! Would book again 🤩

We enjoyed it a lot, got a great variety of the freshest and delicious seafood, fish and drinks to taste and time flew with all the sights and explanations of our very knowledgeable and experienced guide Shigeki. A great night out in Shinsekai

We had a fantastic evening with EK. It was such fun trying all the different local dishes. All of which we enjoyed. We even had a game of smart ball. Highly recommend the tour.

Fascinating Salarymen district tour

We had a lovely tour although the weather was dismal, pouring with rain! John took us to the salaryman’s district and the stories and information he held was fascinating. We were restricted to food because of my wife’s dietary requirements, but that we had was very tasty. The drink was good too and we were too engrossed to take more photos.

Enjoyed the eating with locals izakaya tour!

Sandra was great and took us to non-touristy neighborhood for izakaya experience. Went to 2 places and had variety of food and drinks. Yakitori and other local specialties. She was very friendly and knowledgeable! Recommend!

We had an absolutely incredible food tour in Tokyo with Ema from Arigato Travel, and it was hands down one of the best experiences of our entire trip! The evening started with a thoughtful tea tasting, which set the perfect tone and made the whole tour feel so well planned. From there, Ema took us to a wonderful local Japanese restaurant, followed by another authentic spot where we enjoyed both cold and hot udon noodles. Ema has such a gift for making you feel welcome — he took the time to learn our likes and dislikes, then ordered for us with perfect intuition every single time. After dinner, he treated us to a delicious dessert and then took us to the most amazing view and park at the top of Ginza 6. Throughout the evening, Ema shared fascinating cultural insights that made everything so much richer — like how slurping noodles is customary and that you should never pour your own sake because it's considered bad luck. He was patient, never rushed us, and made us feel like we were exploring Tokyo with a good friend. Ema is a true five-star guide in every sense — kind, smart, funny, worldly, and such a joy to spend time with. We laughed, learned, and ate incredibly well. We went on tsukiji breakfast tour , our guide was Jane - even though it rained most of the morning Jane was in great spirits and did not let bad weather interfere with her ability to provide education about the fish market and provide a fabulous eating experience Jane was awesome

We had an incredible two-week trip to Japan (Kyoto, Minobu, and Tokyo), planned with the help of the tailored travel services from Arigato Travel, and we are so grateful to Anne & the Arigato team who made everything so special. ✨ What stood out most was how much Anne cared about getting to know us as a family. She spent real time understanding what we like, how we travel, and what would make the trip meaningful for all of us, grandparents and kids included, and then somehow turned that into an itinerary that truly reflected us. ☺️ Everything was so thoughtfully planned, from great hotels in the right locations to smooth travel between cities. The experiences were a huge highlight, like making udon and Japanese sweets, learning the art of kintsugi, and watching a sumo show (where our son actually got pulled on stage to participate 😂), just to name a few. The temple stay in Minobu was probably the most special part—it was so immersive and something we never would have figured out on our own. Anne’s attention to detail and how much she genuinely cared really came through the whole time. This was one of the most meaningful trips we’ve taken as a family. We couldn’t recommend Anne and the Arigato team more highly!! 💗

Great underground tour

We went on the Tokyo Underground Tour to do something a bit different as we've been to Tokyo quite a lot of times and also we live in APAC so the kids were familiar with Japanese food. It was great, a combo of history, architecture and food. Really recommended. The guide, Chris, integrated the kids into the tour in a great way and gave them fun challenges to do as we walked and honestly feel know Tokyo, the underground and the city much better now. And great food of course.
