THE BEST OF LAND AND SEA – Slovene Istria and Trieste

Our trip starts from Ljubljana in direction to the easternmost region of Italy - Trieste.

We will take a walk through this charming Italian coast town, which has been influenced over the years by various other cultures and civilizations.

We will start our walk at the iconic Trieste harbor and continue to the Piazza Unita italia. We will then move to the most picturesque and immensely beautiful castle in this region of Italy – the Miramare castle.

We will move towards Slovene Adriatic coast with first stop in Piran, known for its Venetian architecture and Tartini squere. We will take time for lunch and afterwards move to Salina Nature Park, the only salt pans maintaining the traditional manual manufacture of salt in this part of the Adriatic.

From the coast we will take you to the inland Istria where you will witness it’s completely different facet. You will attend a guided tour of the top olive oil manufacture and a tasting of finest local olive oils.

In the evening our Istrian experience will culminate in a private visit to organically operated family wine estate. All the wine production is manually done within the family with great attention to every moment of production.

From the purpose built beaches in the cradle of the Adriatic Sea to the diverse scenic paths by the fertile country hills this tour will make you experience the best the land and sea have to offer. Firstly you will discover the secret of a happy life in Trieste, the Triestini embrace Mediterranean happy life with a passion that is palpable and infectious. Trieste is a home of the probably finest coffee in Italy and a must afternoon aperitivo at Pizza Unita. Piran adorned by timeless sensational romance purely justify it’s reputation as a Pearl of the Slovenian coastline. Inland of Istria is a perfect place for the Olive oil tasting and wine tasting experience with the iconic and renowned winemaker.
