Ribeiro Frio easy run

This is an easy 11km run through one of the most beautiful trails in the Laurel forest.

Starting in Poiso, we’re going through large pines trees to a single track crossing Levada do Blandy. Next stop is Cabeço da Lenha where the enjoyable views of Poiso’s hydrographic basin are found.

Back to a dirt road, we’re going down through a technical trail crossing the Laurel forest, heading to Levada dos Balcões and finally reaching Ribeiro Frio, home of the famous trout vivarium.

Moving on, we’re going upwards through ancient royal stone roads and sheepfolds, finishing where we started, Poiso.

This is a trail right in the middle of the Laurissilva forest which provides the excellent opportunity to visit the famous trout vivarium in Ribeiro Frio. This is a great trail for anyone who wants a mix of mountains and forest.
