Chão dos Louros easy run

• This is an easy 12km run deep into the heart of Madeira’s Laurel forest. Our route begins in the picnic area of Chão dos Louros, descending towards Rosário through wooden steps and dirt roads. Next is going up through agricultural lands and trails to Achada do Laurel, crossing Levada do Rodrigues to Folhadal, deep inside the Laurel forest. Arriving at Levada do Norte, and moving towards Encumeada, there’s an unobstructed sight of São Vicente’s valley and the entire central mountain range of the island.
