Poiso easy run
Highlights
-
This is a 14km run on the easiest climb to Pico do Areeiro. Beginning in Poiso and crossing an area entirely covered by pines, a single track lead us to the open area of Chão da Lagoa. After Areeiro’s plateau we’ll enter an ascending trail ending at Pico do Areeiro’s top. The views from this peak are gorgeous, with Pico Ruivo, Paúl da Serra and the entire central mountain range of Madeira in sight. The descent goes through Areeiro’s plateau once more towards the Field of Environmental Education, where endemic plants are planted and preserved. We’ll continue our return coming through Levada do Blandy.
