FAQ

Does the boat leave from your location?

Toggle FAQ

No unfortunately the water at our location is to shallow, so you will need to sign waivers and make payment at our location “Causeway Watersports”. You will then need to drive to “Shallowbag Bay Marina” which is about five minutes from our location. We provide a detailed map with driving instructions and GPS coordinates to take with you, this will also be your flight ticket to get on the boat.

How long does the adventure last?

Toggle FAQ

Each Parasail flight is 10 – 12 minutes long, start too finish. The overall time being on the parasail boat depends on how many flights are scheduled, and can be up to 1.5 hrs. Please keep in mind that time is needed for boat & rigging preparations, a safety briefing, and the boat trip to the launch area and back, etc.

How many passengers can go on the boat, and what about observers?

Toggle FAQ

We can take up a maximum of 12 passengers on the boat per trip. If you have more than 12 people in your group, please contact us, as we can book “back to back” boats to accommodate your party.

There is a $40 charge per observer. We guarantee 1 observer spot per group (if there is room) additional observer spots are not guaranteed, but are allowed if space permits at the time of departure.

How much experience does the captain have and what is your safety record?

Toggle FAQ

First off Parasailing is one of the safest Watersport activities if done properly. Each of our parasail captains have over 15 years of flying experience. Our captains have directly trained many of the parasail operators on the Outer Banks. They hold a valid United States Masters captains license, and are enrolled in the WSIA (Water Sports Industry Association) our governing body, and strictly adhere to all ASTM Standards.

We have a perfect safety record by using the best equipment, having the years and years of experience, consistent training, industry connections and contacts, and following a simple Moto: If we wouldn’t fly our family members, we will not fly yours!

Is there an age limit, or athletic requirement?

Toggle FAQ

Children must be a minimum weight of 40lbs to fly with an adult. Our oldest flyer was a woman 98 years young.

All age groups subject to the Captain’s approval at time, based off the current weather conditions.

Generally speaking if you can sit, you can fly! No prior experience or talent is necessary.

If you have any concerns about health or mobility issues, we always recommend erring on the side of caution. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

Do you offer Single Flyers?

Toggle FAQ

Single Flyers are handled on a case by case basis. We do not offer this with our online bookings, and to set a reservation for a single flyer you will need to give us a call at 252-441-8875.

With a Single parasailer, weight becomes an issue. Just as we can’t have too much weight at one time, we also can’t have too little. Generally speaking we need a minimum of 150 lbs per flight but this can change with the different wind and weather conditions at the time. We encourage trying to find someone else to fly with you, if this is not possible with any one in your party, we can still try to accomodate.

Do I need to know how to swim?

Toggle FAQ

Swimming is not necessary. It is required for all participants to wear a life vest while flying, and anyone under the age of 13 to wear at all times on the boat.

Do you provide a photo package?

Toggle FAQ

We offer a Photo package for $35 for the first flight and $10 for each additional flight.

Photo packages: Include 50+ high quality photos per flight.

Photo packages are paid for on the Parasail boat, please be prepared to make payment with either cash, or most payment Apps. If you would like to add a photo package to your flight/s please just let your parasail crew know and they will be happy to accommodate.

Will we get wet?

Toggle FAQ

We do offer a dip in the water, with favorable conditions the Captain will be able to give you a refreshing dip in water at the end of your flight. However there are certain instances where we are unable to offer the “dip”, we will make every effort to accommodate your choice conditions permitting.

Keep in mind you will be on a boat, and there is always the possibility of getting wet! Please plan accordingly. **We accept no liability for any lost or damaged items you bring.**
