Join "ikebana" lesson held at Daisho-in, which is the oldest temple in Miyajima.
Assemble at the reception of Daisho-in temple. Then move to the lesson room. The lesson is held in the sitting room of the temple - a hall with the most beautiful scenic view. While sitting on the tatami-floor, you can see the Seto Inland Sea and Hatsukaichi city on the other side. Experience Japanese traditional culture through colorful flowers in the elegant hall with a long dignified history. Our instructors are local flower artists. This ikebana lesson must be a priceless experience as it is held in the temple hall usually off-limits to the public.
First, the instructors will give you a brief explanation about today’s theme and flower materials. Then, they will explain how to arrange flowers and how to use tools and "landing" and "draining" methods to cut stems. You will make your own Ikebana work. As our instructors are very attentive, feel free to ask any questions.
