This is the oldest, proclaimed park in Africa (est. 1895) and is home to the big five. Situated approximately 70 km from St. Lucia, this is a park you have to see. The 84 mammal species and the 370 bird species call this piece of heaven home. The area of the park is 960km squared, and the topography ranges from the lowlands of the Umfolozi River to steep hilly country. The park is renowned for its rhino conservation project and is home to the largest population of white rhino in the world.
This tour starts at 5:00am in St. Lucia, where you will be picked up at your accommodation or, alternatively, you could meet at Nyalazi Gate at 6:00am. From there you will be transported to the park. Once inside the park, your highly qualified guide will set you off on a journey to look for the big five. After a scrumptious breakfast at a picnic site or even a special lookout point, you head out on your quest again. At about 12:00pm you will be dropped off at your accommodation again.
