Begin your day with hotel pickup in St. Lucia around 4:45am or alternatively meet at Nyalazi gate at 6am. Upon reaching this oldest proclaimed park in Africa (1895), you could see instantly start to see any combination of the 84 mammal species and 370 bird species that call this land home. Situated approx. 70 km from St Lucia, this 96,000ha (237,221 acres) big park boasts topography ranges from the lowlands of the Umfolozi river to steep hilly country. The park is renowned for its rhino conservation project and is home to the largest population of white rhino in the world. Once you get settled inside the park, your highly qualified guide will set you off on a journey to look for the big five game animals. The big five consists of elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffaloes. After breakfast at a picnic site or even a special lookout point, you head out on your quest again.
Later, enjoy lunch - a special treat of braai (BBQ) consisting of beef steak, sausage, rolls and salads. If you are a vegan or vegetarian please notate when booking so special provisions can be made for you. After lunch you will start to head home with new friendships made and a camera full of awesome photos. At around 3pm you will be dropped off at your accommodation.
