- Description
- This once-in-a-lifetime tour of David and the Duomo gets you skip-the-line access to two of Florence’s most iconic sites. With an expert local guide, you’ll see some of the greatest art and architecture of the Italian Renaissance and get deeper context that will help you more fully appreciate each aspect. Visit Michelangelo’s David without the typical crowds, enjoy exclusive access to the famed Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral's terraces, and climb that incomparable dome—all without waiting in line.
- Your tour begins close to the Accademia Gallery in central Florence, where you’ll meet your guide and an intimate group of 18 people (or fewer). Breezing past the long line, you’ll head straight inside. Marvel at Michelangelo’s statue of David as well as his unfinished “Slaves” sculptures, each of which grants you incredible insight into the mind of a master.
- After leaving the museum, you’ll stop at Piazza del Duomo outside the Baptistery and check out the incredible bronze-cast doors by Lorenzo Ghiberti, coined the "Gates of Paradise" by Michelangelo. Your tour includes tickets (valid for 72 hours) allowing you to visit other monuments like the Opera Duomo Museum, Baptistery of San Giovanni and Crypt of Santa Reparata on your own after the tour.
-
- Continue on to the jewel of Florence, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, with a special skip-the-line entrance. Once inside, your guide will unveil some of the secrets behind the architecture before leading you up to the terraces*—an exclusive space rarely visited by the general public.
- Finally, once the guided tour concludes on the terrace level, you’re welcome to continue your journey up to the top of Florence by climbing to the top of the dome. Starting from this level gives you a head start past the long lines down below, so you’ll be soaking up spectacular views of the city in no time at all.
- *Please note: Only the morning tour will briefly tour the Florence cathedral. The afternoon tour will enjoy a view of the cathedral's interior from above during the climb to the Duomo terraces. The order of the itinerary may vary to avoid the crowds and enhance your experience.

We’ve saved the best for last. After learning about this magnificent Cathedral, you’ll visit the Duomo Terraces where you’ll use a special entrance to skip the (always long) line and climb all the way up to the top of the Duomo for the city’s most amazing views.
Skip lines and go behind velvet ropes at the two most important (and busiest) attractions in Florence. This VIP experience showcases Michelangelo's *David* and the *Duomo* as you've never seen them before.
You'll begin early with reserved tickets for the first entrance at the Florence Accademia, where Michelangelo's earth-shattering sculpture of *David* has been dazzling people for years. You'll learn the story of this statue from your local guide, along with fascinating tales of its tortured creator, Michelangelo Buonarroti, whose unfinished *Slaves* you'll also get to enjoy. They provide a fantastic insight into the artist's method of sculpting, which he characterized as being more like a reveal than creation. Indeed, the *Slaves* do look like they've been lurking inside the rock for centuries, just waiting for Michelangelo to release them.
Its now time to enjoy a tour of the streets of Florence where you will discover the fascinating history behind the Medici's and much more as your guide shows you the city highlights.
Next it's on through the Piazza del Duomo and past the Florence Baptistery - where all true Florentines were once baptized. There you'll pause to gaze upon bronze doors that Michelangelo himself called the *Gates of Paradise*.
Take a moment before you make your way to the *Duomo* Terrace, where you'll step on the semi-secret platform that will give you an unrivaled view of the great dome of the cathedral. It's truly a moment to remember. The terrace dome broke every rule of architecture when it was built by Filippo Brunelleschi and remains today one of the largest domes in the world, more than 500 years after it was built.
Finally, the cherry on top of this VIP cake; you'll have the option to take a special-entrance Dome climb. While most visitors wait for hours in the long line below, you'll walk right up to the pinnacle of this titanic structure for a jaw-dropping view of Florence and the rolling hills of Tuscany beyond.

- Its now time to enjoy a tour of the streets of Florence where you will discover the fascinating history behind the Medici's and much more as your guide shows you the city highlights.
- Next it's on through the Piazza del Duomo and past the Florence Baptistery - where all true Florentines were once baptized. There you'll pause to gaze upon bronze doors that Michelangelo himself called the *Gates of Paradise*.
- Take a moment before you make your way to the *Duomo* Terrace, where you'll step on the semi-secret platform that will give you an unrivaled view of the great dome of the cathedral. It's truly a moment to remember. The terrace dome broke every rule of architecture when it was built by Filippo Brunelleschi and remains today one of the largest domes in the world, more than 500 years after it was built.
- Finally, the cherry on top of this VIP cake; you'll have the option to take a special-entrance Dome climb. While most visitors wait for hours in the long line below, you'll walk right up to the pinnacle of this titanic structure for a jaw-dropping view of Florence and the rolling hills of Tuscany beyond.

Visit Michelangelo’s ‘David’ before the crowds show up; enjoy exclusive access to the Cathedral's terraces and climb the Florence Dome without waiting in line.
- You’ll start first thing in the morning, meeting your local expert guide and intimate group of 15 people or fewer outside the Accademia. Before the daytime crowds show up, you’ll head into marvel at Michelangelo’s ‘David’ as well as his unfinished sculptures known as ‘Slaves’ which give incredible insight into the mind of the great artist.
- After your visit at the Accademia you'll explore the streets of Florence. Your guided walking tour takes you to Piazza della Signoria, an open-air art galelry and many other city highlights. As you walk your guide will tell you the stories that bring the city to life around you.
- Next, it’s onto the Duomo Square where you will stop off at the Baptistery to see a set of bronze doors cast by Lorenzo Ghiberty that Michelangelo dubbed the 'Gates of Paradise. Your guide will give a full introduction to the square which still boasts one of the largest domes in the entire world, Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, more commonly known as Florence Duomo.
- We’ve saved the best for last. After learning about this magnificent Cathedral, you’ll visit the Duomo Terraces where you’ll use a special entrance to skip the (always long) line and climb all the way up to the top of the Duomo for the city’s most amazing views.
- Skip lines and go behind velvet ropes at the two most important (and busiest) attractions in Florence. This VIP experience showcases Michelangelo's *David* and the *Duomo* as you've never seen them before.
- You'll begin early with reserved tickets for the first entrance at the Florence Accademia, where Michelangelo's earth-shattering sculpture of *David* has been dazzling people for years.
