Full Description
  • You’ll start at a tiny corner bar on a quiet street in the Oltrarno neighborhood. It’s here where you’ll get a crash course in Tuscan cuisine in the form of regional cheese, bruschette, focaccia, and Chianti Classico wine.
  •
  • From there, you’ll make a quick stop at one of Florence’s famous wine windows to sip a glass of red or white.
  •
  • After this little warm up, you'll stop at another locally loved wine bar for an aperitivo of Tuscan cold cuts washed down with another regional wine.
  • Now you're ready for dinner. Sit down at a trattoria to try the legendary bistecca alla fiorentina, or Florentine steak. One bite and you’ll immediately understand the city’s famous love for meat.
  •
  • Finally, since you're in the birthplace of gelato, it would be practically criminal not to try Italy’s favorite frozen treat! You'll take a quick stroll to one of the city's most beloved gelaterias for a cup or a cone of your favorite flavor, made with organic regional ingredients.

Full Description
  • Your tour begins in the atmospheric but little-visited Oltrarno neighborhood, where you'll meet your guide (a local foodie passionate about Tuscan produce) and small group. Now it's time to get acquainted with the building blocks of Tuscan cuisine—and if you ask us, the most important ingredients.
  • We'll start at a family-run wine bar with a medieval cellar boasting an impressive 15,000 bottles, and sample a few of them alongside homemade olive oil and local truffle products. As you eat, your guide will explain regional subtleties and what you should be looking for in your food - both here and at home.
  • After this little warm up, it's on to the Piazza Santo Spirito, central Florence's most authentic piazza, where locals come every evening to eat in the shade of their beautiful church. You'll stop at another local favorite wine bar for an aperitivo of local wines and Tuscan cold cuts.
  • Now you're ready for dinner. Sit down at a Florentine restaurant to try one of Tuscany's famous soups and a main course that will showcase Florentines' famous love of meat.
  • It's not quite over though. Since you're in the birthplace of gelato it would be criminal not to try it. You'll take a quick stroll to one of the city's famous gelaterias for a cup or a cone of Italy's most beloved frozen treats.
  • As you explore Florence's delis, restaurants, and eateries, your local guide will tell you the story of Florentine food and how it evolved from humble beginnings as cucina povera, or "poor food," into one of the world's most beloved cuisines. For people looking to eat well and learn about the culture behind the food, this is an experience that is sure to delight.

Description Summary
  • Enjoy the best of Tuscan cuisine on this authentic evening Dine Around. You'll visit some of the city's best bars, enotecas and restaurants, sampling the specialties (and wine!) of each, with a local foodie to guide you. Part Florence Food Tour, part meal with friends, this is the best way to experience the food and wine that has made this region so famous.
  • There’s no such thing as ‘Italian food’. Italy’s food is entirely regional but for most visitors, that quintessential ‘Italian’ menu is actually Tuscan; and in particular, Florentine. On this authentic experience you’ll eat like a local on a restaurant-and-bar-hopping dine around, devouring a full meal including starters, local soup, first course, second course and dessert! Oh and the wine of course, explore wine cellars and get to taste either a Super Tuscan wine or a 40-50 year old chianti. There will be many other surprises for your taste buds as you learn about the Tuscan cuisine.

Description

For people looking to eat well and learn about the culture behind the food, this is an experience that is sure to delight.
  • In Florence, dinner isn’t just another meal, it’s a night-long symphony of food, flavors, and good friends. A celebration of regional cuisine and the flavors that make it unique. It’s not hard to find good food in Florence, but if you really want to eat as the Florentines do you need to come along with one of our local expert foodies to visit wine bars, restaurants, gelaterias, and more. For a culinary experience that introduces you to the very best of the city.
  • You’ll start your tour in the bustling plaza of Santo Spirito and head into an enoteca, or wine bar, where you’ll be able to sample some local wine and explore the underground wine cellars. You’ll sample Tuscan charcuterie, cheeses, and fresh-baked bread along with regional olive oils, balsamic vinegars and truffle. As you eat, your guide will explain why Florence has become recognized as one of the world capitals of good eating, even within Italy, and how the region of Tuscany is able to produce such quality foods.
  • In between the artisans’ workshops that line Via Santo Spirito you’ll pass by our favorite bakery in Florence before sitting down at a local trattoria for the main event.
  • We hope you’ve saved some room because what comes next is the highlight of the evening. After a typical Florentine soup, you’ll devour your first and second course. Let us surprise you here...
  • Finally, our last stop will be at our favorite gelateria in Florence to grab a cup of your favorite gelato, invented right here in Florence. Our tour will end in a little square in the Oltarno Neighborhood.
  •
  • Accompanied throughout by one of our local expert foodies, you’ll feel much more like you are spending an evening eating with friends than going on a food tour. Bring an appetite and an open mind and we’ll sort out the rest.

Description Summary
