  • Please dress for the temperatures on the day of your trip. The best advice for gearing up for any excursion along your cruise is to bring layers. Quick dry material is always better than blue jeans.
  • We provide rain pants and jackets. We recommend you wear clothing that would be appropriate for outdoor hiking, and shoes that will fit comfortably inside the space of a kayak. Dry bags are also provided for cameras and incidental items.
  • PICKUP FOR DOWNTOWN CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS & OTHER GUESTS: *(Cruisers Docking at Ward Cove see next paragraph!)
  • After disembarking your cruise ship, please proceed to the shelter at Cruise Berth 3. The green roof shelter is on the dock next to the "Visitors Information - Restrooms" building and Sockeye Sam's Store.
  • (NOTE: this is not the berth 2 Visitors Center).
  • The map and photos attached make this easy to find. The walk is approximately 2-5 minutes depending on which pier you are docked. Our driver will be present 15 minutes before all departures holding a YELLOW sign that says "KETCHIKAN ZODIAC ADVENTURE."
  • FOR CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS ARRIVING AT THE MILL AT WARD COVE:
  • ***This excursion DOES NOT provide transportation to and from the new dock in Ward Cove.
  • You will need to take the shuttle buses provided to/from downtown Ketchikan.
  • The shuttle will drop you off at cruise berth 4 and it’s about a 5 minute walk along the dock to meet us at berth 3. (See above instructions for berth meeting details).
  • After disembarking your cruise ship, please proceed to the brick building "The Mill at Ward Cove." Proceed through the building. You will need to go outside the building to find the shuttle buses to take you downtown.
  • Norwegian Cruise lines almost exclusively dock at Ward Cove. Guests from the Encore and the Bliss have had no issues taking our tour at 0800 or 0900 downtown using the shuttle buses from Ward Cove. Other ships/cruise lines may have longer port calls and more options for departures.
  • If you need assistance or are unsure about your Ketchikan itinerary please call or text Orca Cove Alaska Outdoor Adventures at 907-225-1258.

  • *Remember to turn off airplane mode when you pull into port to aid in communication should there be any delays or should any issues arise the day of your excursion. Some wireless users may need to enable roaming on their phone, but US wireless users should not receive roaming charges in Ketchikan.

  • Some ships itineraries are in Ketchikan long enough to enjoy both our Zodiac Adventure and our E-Bike & Hiking tours in the same trip. The combo tour total dock-to-dock time is 6.5 hours from departure and allows time between tours for our smoked salmon snack along with other local & vegan options and beverages at our marina.

  • After disembarking your cruise ship, please proceed to the shelter at Cruise Berth 3. The green roof shelter is on the dock next to the "Visitors Information - Restrooms" building and Sockeye Sam's Store.

  • The map and photos attached make this easy to find. The walk is approximately 2-5 minutes depending on which pier you are docked. Our driver will be present 15 minutes before all departures holding a RED sign that says "KETCHIKAN KAYAK CO."
  • FOR CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS ARRIVING AT THE MILL AT WARD COVE:
  • After disembarking your cruise ship, please proceed to the brick building "The Mill at Ward Cove." Proceed through the building to the right. Tour vendors will be greeting guests for excursions in the corner near the restrooms and the large overhead door. Look for your driver 15 minutes AFTER the departure time with a RED sign that reads "KETCHIKAN KAYAK CO."
  • ***IMPORTANT NOTE!
  • The MIll at Ward Cove is halfway between downtown Ketchikan and our marina, this means DEPARTURES FROM WARD COVE WILL BE LEAVING 15-20 MINUTES AFTER THE SCHEDULED TOUR DEPARTURE TIME and guests returning to Ward Cove will be back about 15 minutes early. For example, if you schedule a tour from 8:00am to noon, your tour will operate from 8:15 to 11:45.am.
  • If you are docking at Ward Cove but would prefer to meet for a downtown departure or if you would prefer to be dropped off downtown after the excursion this may be possible but you will need to contact us at least 15 minutes before your tour departure to arrange the change.
  • Otherwise all guests docking at Ward Cove will be expected to be picked up at Ward Cove.

The combo tour total dock-to-dock time is 6.5 hours from departure and allows time between tours for our smoked salmon snack along with other local & vegan options and beverages at our marina.
