Florida Bioluminescence Clear Kayak Tour | Cocoa Beach (Kiwanis Island)

Summary

We will first ask everyone to arrive 30 mins prior to launch time. Once we get everyone checked in, outfitted in their P.F.D.'s, and passed out paddles, we will begin a short instruction on the basics of tandem kayaking. This will normally wrap up at the prescribed launch time. From there we head down to the water. We will issue every group a boat number and then we will shove off. This launch site is nestled in the Ulamay wildlife sanctuary between Cocoa beach and Merritt Island. This is an amazing place to see unique mangroves, dolphin and bioluminescence. Once on the water we will paddle around in a protected bay to see all types of marine life light the water up underneath our crystal clear kayaks. On these tours we can see manatee, dolphin, fish, crabs, sting-ray, trash pandas, maybe even a baby gator! We'll explain why and what makes the water light up and why Florida is only 1 of 5 places in the world to see this phenomenon. After about an hour of stop and go type paddling, we head back to the launch site.

About operator:

We are a Florida kayak company located on the east coast of central Florida, about 45 minutes east of Orlando and the surrounding attractions. We offer multiple 90 minute tour options, from multiple locations. We specialize in Bioluminescent kayaking, the #1 activity in the Orlando / Cocoa beach area. The Indian river lagoon is the only home in the United States to dinoflagellate bioluminescent algae. What that means is when the water is touched by a hand, paddle, or a fish swimming through it, it will glow a bright neon blue. We also offer Manatee and Dolphin kayaking adventures from the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. These amazing threatened animals will come right up to your kayak and if your lucky enough allow you to give them a quick scratch! Watch Dolphin breech out of the water just feet from your kayak hunting fish! We also offer the opportunity to view nighttime SpaceX rocket launches less than 3 miles from the launch pads, truly an amazing Florida experience!
