We will first ask everyone to arrive 30 mins prior to launch time. Once we get everyone checked in, outfitted in their P.F.D.'s, and passed out paddles, we will begin a short instruction on the basics of tandem kayaking. This will normally wrap up at the prescribed launch time. From there we head down to the water. We will issue every group a boat number and then we will shove off.
Once on the water we will paddle around in a protected bay to see all types of marine life light the water up underneath our crystal clear kayaks. On these tours we can see manatee, dolphin, fish, crabs, sting-ray, trash pandas, maybe even a baby gator! We'll explain why and what makes the water light up and why Florida is only 1 of 5 places in the world to see this phenomenon.
In the summertime in Florida we can see the Milky Way overhead at night. If you've never seen this, it is amazing. We do see a lot of falling stars, and during the Perseid meteor showers, we have a front row seat. It is not uncommon to see the sky explode overhead or over the ocean from the break-up of a larger meteor.
After about an hour of stop and go type paddling, we head back to the launch site.
