Exceptional sites to visit

This is a trip that you should not miss! Our guide, Padraic, was charming and provided information on the history and culture of Ireland. The Cliffs of Moher are breathtaking! We also saw smaller towns and stopped in Galway to shop and dine. Our driver, PJ, was a skilled driver who negotiated many tight spots successfully. Quite a day trip!

Driver kept falling asleep at the wheel.

It was a wonderful tour! Our tour guide was wonderful however, and this is a VERY big however. JP the driver of the bus kept falling asleep at the wheel!!! I was in the first row of the bus and watched him close his eyes at least 5 times. I had to signal to another passenger to get our tour guide from the back of the bus to come up and keep him awake. The roads were windy and we were going at a fast speed. I’ve never been so scared in my life. My husband and I felt like we couldn’t take our eyes off of him. When he fell asleep his head would roll to the side and it would wake him up. TERRIFIED doesn’t even describe how we felt. I was generous in giving a four star. If I could rate the driver alone it would be a one. I will think before I schedule with wildrover tours.

After my fantastic Cliffs of Moher, Wild Atlantic Way & Galway tour the day before (which I’ve also reviewed here on Viator), I followed my previous guide Eve’s recommendation and spontaneously booked the Belfast, Dunluce Castle & Giant's Causeway – Northern Ireland Day Trip for the very next day. And I'm so glad I did! Just like the day before, I arrived a little early. I was travelling solo and managed to get a window seat, definitely worth it on this route! The buses are clean and comfortable, even for a full day on the road. A quick note for international travellers: Northern Ireland is part of the UK, so check the current entry requirements for your nationality. I had a slight moment of panic because I'd booked less than 24 hours beforehand and hadn't thought about this! I applied for the required UK travel authorisation online and luckily received it within hours. However, there was no border check during our journey. Now to the actual tour: I've done quite a few organised day trips, but in terms of route and scenery, this was by far the best one I've ever done. Everything was clearly explained from the beginning, and David (the one with the ukulele) was fantastic. He entertained us on the way to Belfast with stories, information, humour and music, making the drive feel like part of the experience rather than simply the time between stops. In Belfast, you can choose between the Titanic Experience and the Black Taxi Tour. Based on my previous guide's recommendation, I chose the Black Taxi Tour and cannot recommend it enough. If you're interested in history and enjoy asking questions, do it! It gave me a much deeper understanding of Belfast, the Troubles and the complex and painful history of Ireland and Northern Ireland. A special thank you to Sean, our Black Taxi guide, who did an amazing job explaining a history that can be difficult to grasp when you've only read about it. After Belfast, we continued towards Dunluce Castle, where Ireland showed us its more mysterious side: foggy, dramatic and almost eerie. Even with the mist, we had plenty of opportunities for beautiful photos, and it made the ruins feel even more atmospheric. Then came my absolute highlight of my entire trip to Ireland: Giant's Causeway and the Causeway Coastal landscape. One thing I quickly learned is that Irish weather can completely change within ten minutes. Apart from our foggy stop at Dunluce Castle, the weather gods were definitely on our side, and the coastal views were simply breathtaking. My recommendation at Giant's Causeway: take the upper route first and walk towards the Amphitheatre, then make your way down towards the UNESCO World Heritage basalt columns. You get the spectacular coastal views from above before experiencing the Causeway itself from below. If you don't want to walk all the way back uphill, there's a shuttle bus for a small fee that takes you back towards the meeting point. Don't be intimidated by the walk. Sturdy shoes are a good idea, but you don't need to be an experienced or particularly fit hiker. Take your time and soak it all in. There are also options to grab a snack or eat at the restaurant. For me, this was some of the most spectacular scenery I saw in Ireland. Photos honestly don't do it justice. A huge thank you to David and Paolo for making such a long day so enjoyable, for the stories, music and entertainment, and of course to Paolo for getting us safely and comfortably through an incredible amount of countryside and back to Dublin. Unfortunately, my time in Ireland was over after this tour. Otherwise, after two fantastic experiences in a row, I genuinely would have booked a third one. Beautiful landscapes and a wholesome tour

We were looking forward to this trip for a long time and it was absolutely worth it! It’s a bit of a long drive to the west coast and back but our guide Dave told interesting facts and stories about Ireland, its landscapes and many spots along the way. And the music selection was great and always perfectly timed. The Cliffs of Moher were beautiful, the coastal streets and their rugged landscapes blew us away, and Galway was a busy but beautiful city with great food spots. We would recommend specifically this tour to any future travellers and want to thank our guide Dave and driver Joe (and Dolly the sheep) again here.

Great trip!

We had a great time on this trip! Our bus driver and guides were great! The history was very interesting and the sights were beautiful, especially the Giant's Causeway! The trip is long, so be prepared. They make appropriate stops to use the facilities and buy drinks and food. For some reason, the first tour bus was full and we had to walk to another stop. The second bus was late due to a flat tire. The company made up for it by treating everyone to a special treat! I would recommend this trip if you don't mind the long day.

What a wonderful day and an experience I would absolutely recommend!

I joined the Cliffs of Moher, Wild Atlantic Way & Galway tour on June 23rd with Eve as our guide and Stipe as our driver, and honestly, it was one of those days that makes you understand why people fall in love with Ireland. Eve was funny, warm, thoughtful and incredibly knowledgeable. She managed to make even the long stretches on the bus entertaining, sharing stories, history and little details about Ireland that you might otherwise completely miss along the way. I especially loved her stories about the Irish fairy trees (I don't think I'll ever look at one the same way again! ☘️). A little tip for anyone considering this tour: arrive a bit early in the morning if having a particular seat or a window seat matters to you. Once everyone is on board, the itinerary is explained and then you're off. Our first big highlight was, of course, the Cliffs of Moher. One huge advantage of this tour was that we were able to enter around 30 minutes before the general opening time. I hadn't realized beforehand how valuable those 30 minutes could be. There were fewer people, and we were incredibly lucky to have beautiful sunshine and clear views when we arrived. In true Irish fashion, the weather changed not long afterwards, so that early access really made a difference for us. After some time to explore, take photos and grab a snack, we met back at the bus and continued along the Wild Atlantic Way. The scenery was exactly the kind of Ireland I had previously only known from pictures and stories. Having Eve provide background information and point out things along the way made it even better. Our final stop was Galway, where Eve gave us a little city map together with recommendations and tips for our free time. I wandered through a street festival, had my first Guinness Zero, found something to eat and simply enjoyed the atmosphere of the city. I was travelling solo, but I was also lucky enough to have a wonderful seat neighbour, which made an already lovely day even nicer. On the drive back to Dublin, I could just relax, sleep a little and occasionally wake up to Eve's voice telling us another story. A special thank you also to Stipe, who safely drove us through this very long day and made the whole journey feel relaxed and comfortable. I enjoyed the experience so much that, following Eve's recommendation, I booked another tour with the company straight away for the very next day, which probably says more than any five-star rating could. Thank you, Eve & Stipe, for such a memorable introduction to this beautiful part of Ireland. I would happily do it all over again. 🇮🇪☘️

Julie our tour guide was a sweet lighthearted Irish girl who made the tour a joy. She shared many facts in a fun way and really looked out for all of us in the tour. Our driver was very good as well. The Cliffs of Mohr were spectacular!! We hit some rain in Galway but it was an adorable town to see. Great food too! I would highly recommend this very organized tour.

Excellent tour, guide was...

Excellent tour, guide was very informative driver excellent, only issue, it was a long way to the first restroom stop which was just short of Belfast, a stop on the motorway would have been better.

Highly recommend taking a tour with Caolan and Paolo. Caolan is an amazing guide to show you the beauty of Ireland, and all the fun stories that come with it. My family and I did the Cliffs of Moher and trip to Galway. It seems like a long day but Caolan makes it an easy trip! He will have you laughing a lot, especially with his mention of milk drinking (; He offers other tours but we unfortunately do not have time to go on them, but I’m sure those are great as well. Paolo is a very skilled driver that kept us safe when driving along the narrow coastline. 10/10 would recommend a trip with these two!😁

Great day at the Cliffs of Moher and Galway

Guide, Dave was excellent. Our driver, Joe navigated the narrow roads with ease. The Cliffs were spectacular. Galway is a beautiful town with plenty to see.
