Orlane was less a tour guide and more an old friend we hadn’t met yet. She enthusiastically shared her (extensive) knowledge of the history and culture of Bourgogne, and was incredibly warm and welcoming — and readily volunteering to take group photos. She kept us on track, but allowed for a casual enough pace that we never felt hurried. The selection of sites was thoughtful, and truly demonstrated the ancient roots of the region, juxtaposing the modern against the antique. We enjoyed a casual lunch with local fare (the Boeuf Bourgogne and local Pinot Noir were exemplary), and met some locals reflecting the eclectic mix of modern day occupants. Ours was a very full day, starting and returning to Paris, with a couple of hours after the tour to wander the old city in Dijon on our own — applying some of the knowledge we’d just acquired. If you want to go beyond great wine and really learn about the rich heritage that is Bourgogne, check this tour out!

Both contrasting vineyards were excellent and very informative. We would definitely recommend this trip to others. The only thing that could improve the tour would be little snacks eg cheese and pretzels etc

Wonderful trip to Dordogne River

Lena was an outstanding guide on our half-day tour of the Dordogne villages. Her deep local knowledge and ability to bring the region’s history and everyday life to life made the tour both informative and genuinely engaging. What stood out most was her emotional intelligence: she sensed the group’s energy and interests, adapted the pace and content accordingly, and made everyone feel included and at ease. She handled questions thoughtfully and created a warm, relaxed atmosphere while still keeping the logistics running smoothly, which speaks to her professionalism. As a native French speaker, her command of English is excellent—clear, precise, and nuanced enough to explain complex historical and cultural points without ever losing us. Thanks to Lena, the tour was not just a visit to beautiful villages, but a meaningful and memorable experience. I would highly recommend her to any English-speaking visitors to the Dordogne.

Excellent guide but could have done with more time in Carcassonne

Sonya was a brilliant guide - knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The journey to and from Carcassonne was very comfortable. We had just under 2 hours in Carcassonne so there wasn't time to do much after the guided part of the visit (eg walk on the ramparts) Another hour in Carcassonne would have made the trip better value.

We cannot say enough nice thing about this tour and Matt! Matt was knowledgeable, personable, engaging and organized. To keep two history buffs engaged for 8 hours is not easy, but Matt did an absolutely wonderful job. This tour was with every penny and then some. Easy enough to book, our original.time.of 9am was cancelled due to unforseen circumstances but they accomodated us on the trip at 2pm instead- Lena our guide was amazing, very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The trip itself amazing if your staying in Sarlat its a really good way to break up your stay and visit the other villages, the viallges are a WOW factor.and a must see

Beautiful Countryside, Pricey Experience

The vineyards and Chateaus are a site to behold and the town of Saint-E’Milion was a wonderful place to explore and eat. I would stay longer in that town. I feel the trip is pricey especially without lunch included. The experiences at the vineyards were a bit repetitive. One explanation of the wine process is enough. The tour guide was friendly and informative.

Such a fun and informative full day tour of the Medoc wine region with the delightful Helen as our guide. Helen absolutely oozes pride and exuberance for her beloved Medoc and her energy and humor is contagious! Really loved all three wineries we went to, and all the hosts were charming and gracious. And of course, the wine was quite delicious! Highly recommend this tour and as a matter fact, I’m doing St Emilion tomorrow and Helen is going to be my tour guide again! Yay!!!
