The highlight of our trip! We had a perfect day snorkeling and whale watching. Captain Rob, Lili, and Kana were fantastic and truly made the experience special for our family. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the island!

Makana was an amazing unforgettable experience! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, comfortable boats that allowed us to get close to the caves and waterfalls even in the rougher winter waters. We snorkeled, saw two types of dolphins that swam alongside our boat, and had several close boat whale sightings! I highly recommended Makana Charters!

I got a lot more than expected on this boat ride. Crew was great, well informed and share some fascinating history about the natives of Kauai, took the time to search out for dolphins and whales, explored caves, were very hospitable and stopped at a great spot for us to get out and swim. The tour was worth every dollar we paid. I'd go again in a heart-beat.

Great morning tour with the crew! Weather www great , crew kept us entertained with stories of the ocean and we saw a ton of dolphins and lots of whale fins! We also snorkeled and got real up close to the gorgeous coast . Highly recommended!

Makana Charters are the best , we book for 12/26 for 4 hours of napali coast tour , the boat is compact and good for small groups. Both the captains are very friendly and experienced , very informative explained every aspect of the island , ocean and the history of kauai. in my group multiple people has sea sickness one of the captain guided the people very well that way they can come out of the sickness quickly. Overall it is an wonderful experience. Thanks Makana tours.

The boat was great…speciality built for this purpose. Captain and crew were outstanding throughout. The trip itself was remarkable. We saw whales, spinner dolphins, a sea turtle, and the incredible Na Pali coast. Spectacular trip! Highly recommend.

Makana charters provided the best tour ever. The marine life and the Na Pali landscape were almost indescribably beautiful and breathtaking. The boat, Amelia K was great, even in 10 to 15 feet ocean swells the boat was almost perfectly dry. The power offered complete access to the cliff lines and beaches in a safe and reliable manner. The captain and crew were just wonderful. Captain Mike was friendly and knew exactly what he was doing. His knowledge of the sea and marine life was extensive as well as his understanding of the culture, history and geography of the place. In fact his great grandfather was the last Hawaiian to be born deep in one of the canyons in 1902. I actually think his understanding of the area is deeply rooted in his DNA. For me at least this is the type of guy that I would want to be friends with enjoying one of the beaches with a bbq sitting on the tailgate of his truck. Kana was also great, he was attentive, fun to talk to and knew much about farming, fishing and the land in general. I need to say no more about Liliana other than that she fished out my Stetson open road straw hat from the sea when I allowed it to blow away. I highly recommend Makana charters. all in all just marvelous.

All eight of us did the morning Nā Pali charter. My wife and I brought our six kids, which already feels like a bold choice, but it worked out great. Our youngest is five, and everyone had a very good time. The two guides and the captain were excellent. Very friendly, very knowledgeable, and they explained things in a way that didn’t feel like a lecture. We learned a lot about the coastline without feeling like we were back in school. We saw a few whales, hundreds of dolphins (not exaggerating, which I normally would), did some snorkeling, and even spotted a couple of sea turtles. The lunch was better than expected, which is always nice when food is included and you don’t have high expectations. Overall, it was smooth, well run, and genuinely enjoyable for adults and kids. Highly recommend.

We had a 5 star experience on the Amelia K today (11-30-2025). The crew (Khana, Liliana, and Captain Mike) were all so personable, knowledgeable and nice. We have been up the Napili Coast several times before, since this is a smaller boat we could duck in close to the cave and shore. We saw turtles, spinner dolphins, bottle nose dolphins, and whales. We appreciate the exceptional experience. On your directions it would be nice to make it a little more clear to turn left at Port Arthur. And to remind people to bring snacks. Mahalo we will definitely cruise with you again.

Awesome, beautiful experience!!! We saw so many whales and dolphins! The crew was so observant and pointed out the incredible sites! The Na’ pali coast is a wonder for the eyes! Captain was a great driver! Our slightly “seasick” grandparents had a good experience, especially on the way home, where we cruised into the sunset! The sandwiches were ok…not necessarily great, but ok.

Absolutely the BEST tour I have ever had. The captain and crew were outstanding. The boat was safe and comfortable and everything was timed perfectly. This is an AMAZING EXPERIENCE, not to be missed!!!!!!!!!!!
