An absolutely amazing tour with the man, the myth, the legend, the namesake himself- Makana! Uncle Tony also went above and beyond to elevate our experience. Winter season tours obviously come with some cave and snorkeling restrictions due to Mother Nature, but they still made it hands down the best experience we’ve had on our trip so far! Both of them were very informative and descriptive of the different peaks and valleys we had the pleasure of seeing. We still got to see inside of the caves, Makana did a phenomenal job to make us feel safe and comfortable through the whole ride. Simply cannot say enough positive things about those two as well as the company and boat. I would 1000% take the opportunity to tour with Makana Charters again and would recommend using them above anyone else. 10 stars if I could.

We had a great time. Weather wasn't great but the trip was well worth it. Can't expect great weather in January. Crew, Rob, Leroy & Charley were fun & knowledgeable about the history and the sea life. The waterfalls were amazing. Crew mentioned they hadn't seen them flowing like that in years. This trip was EPIC!! We saw whales, LOTS of dolphins and the coastline was beautiful. The crew was top notch—informative and a BLAST with their upbeat attitudes. The whole group enjoyed the crew with constant shouts of approval. Would HIGHLY recommend!!

Excellent tour overall. We were in the Seiko 1 boat with 16 passengers. Our 2 tour guides (Kana and Makana) were very good. They were experienced, friendly, explained things well and told great stories. The Na Pali coast was beautiful! We were fortunate and saw a lot of whales. The water was a little cloudy so we didn’t get to snorkel. That was more than made for by the beauty of the scenery and all the whales. Kana was the driver and did a great job as we were able to get close to the coastline and even went partially into some of the caves and saw a lot of waterfalls! Would definitely take this tour again!

Wonderful half day excursion. We did the morning tour and it was epic. We snorkel with sea turtles and thousands of fish. Ran into a school of hundreds of spinner dolphins later on and the tour of the Nepali coast was a grand adventure Captain Mike even had us into two different caves and explained the history of the region as a native Hawaiian himself. The lunch was a simple sandwich chips and drink so if you have hungry boys as we did I suggest you bring a few extra granola bars to tie them over all in one of the best things we did on the island thank you Mike, Lionel and Lily.

If you’re even slightly on the fence about this experience — don’t be. Just book it. It was a Tuesday morning, 7:30 AM start, and I honestly expected a half-empty boat. Nope. Completely full. And that already told me a lot. From the moment we arrived, everything felt smooth, organized, and genuinely welcoming — no stress, no chaos, just good energy. Once we were out on the water, it only got better. Crystal-clear ocean, unreal coastline views, and then the kind of moments you can’t plan for. We swam with fish, saw dolphins, and even spotted whales. One of those “wait… is this actually happening right now?” situations. The crew deserves special credit. Professional, calm, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. They explained everything, made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable, and somehow managed to keep the vibe relaxed while still running a very tight operation. That balance isn’t easy. Nothing felt rushed. Nothing felt forced. Just a perfectly paced, well-run tour that delivers exactly what it promises — and more. This is one of those experiences you’ll still be talking about long after the photos are posted. Huge thank you to the entire team for an unforgettable morning on the water. Absolutely worth it.

Easily the best excursion we booked for our stay. We were supposed to do the morning tour, but got rescheduled because of water conditions. Luckily, we ended up on the evening tour. Whales were very active- seeing more than I can count and three within the first 10 minutes of the tour. The views of the coast with the afternoon light was perfect. Thank you Rob, Lily, and Leroy for an awesome day!
