Spectacular day for the 4 hr Napali afternoon cruise! We were fortunate to watch a mother whale training her youngster to breach and the dolphins put on quite a show for us too. The Napali Coast is stunning - no other place like it. We thoroughly enjoyed the Captain’s commentary and the two crew members were friendly and helpful. Makana Charters definitely cares about giving its customers a memorable experience and we highly recommend them.

Awesome tour! The whales were out on this afternoon tour. Staff was very knowledgeable and excellent. My only complaint is it was a 4 hr tour 2-6pm instead of a 5 hr tour 2-7pm as advertised.

The boat ride was beautiful and fun. The 5 hours seemed to go by quickly. . The driver got us up close to the entrance of the caves. We saw dolphins and a whale. The guides were great, but I feel it was a little much with the Hawaiian language and names. I would've liked to hear more about places to go and see in Kauai. I recommend Makana Charters.

What an amazing day. We had close encounters with humpbacks (2/28/26), perfect weather, snorkeling time, and especially, the skipper and his crew were outstanding. Glad we chose the big boat, the Na Pali Kai. It was stable in the water, and moved with speed and grace through the modest surf. Great commentary from the crew about the land, the water, even the history and culture of the island. Our whole hearted recommendation!

What a great day along the Na Pali coast! Our Captain and crew shared vast amounts of information regarding the history of the people of Kauai and the geographic terrain as well as geological events that formed the coastline and caves and the wildlife of the area. We were fortunate to encounter numerous whales breaching near the boat, a monk seal sleeping on the shore and spinner dolphins playing around the boat. The day was incredible. I'd suggest this tour and gladly go again. The boat was beautiful and had good facilities including a bathroom on board. The lunch was solid. Sandwiches the same way I'd make 'em. Excellent tour and crew.

The highlight of our trip to Kauai! Our family with kids ages 18, 16 and 11 had a blast! We were surprised by all the dolphins surrounding the boat, the whales breaching in the distance, and of course, the Stunning Na Pali Coast! The guides were so friendly and personable, funny and very knowledgeable about Kaua'i! We enjoyed the history lessons and their professionalism.Highly recommend!!

This boat tour really showed us the beauty of the Na Pali coast. The staff was informative and helpful. We saw many dolphins, but regretfully no whales. My husband ended up getting seasick, so if you are prone to that, make sure you have meds. The water is rough and choppy. The staff did an amazing job with the children on board, even jumping into the water with one who was a little scared.

Excellent tour!! Highly recommend!! A’a and Tim were both great. The Seiko was perfect size and was a lot of fun. Saw dolphins, whales, sea caves, and lots more. Also got to snorkel. A must do when in Kauai!

We had an absolutely incredible experience on this tour. The captain and the guide were genuinely kind, professional, and made us feel completely comfortable from start to finish. They created such a great atmosphere for our family. We went out with our two kids, and it turned into an unforgettable day. We saw whales and dolphins, and even had the chance to swim in the middle of the ocean — truly breathtaking. Everything felt safe, well-organized, and thoughtfully guided. This was 100% worth the money and one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful, memorable ocean experience.
