What a lovely outing to Na Pali coast! We are a traveling as a family of four adults, and all of us enjoyed the trip. Captain Mike of Amelia K and his two assistants provided top notch care of the boat and the passengers. We saw bottle nosed dolphins frolicking in the water, and got to learn about the features and history of the coastline. It was good to learn of the captain’s personal family connection to the land we saw. The snorkeling hour was well executed. Unfortunately, I got hit with a monster migraine in the water and had to get out quickly. The staff assisted with care, and Lionel in particular attempted to help me improve the situation above and beyond what I would expect. Overall, I highly recommend the experience! But maybe don’t snorkel if you are migraine or sinus headache prone…

Yesterday, we took a Makana Charters Boat Tour around the NaPali Coast. Not only did we see breath taking views of the NaPali Coast, but the crew shared Hawaiian history and culture. Makana Charters is one of only two boat tour operations that are owned and run by Native Hawaiians. Our adventure also included traveling through sea caves and passing under waterfalls. Along the tour, we saw sea turtles, a seal, bright colored fish and many dolphins. A very big thank you to our exceptional crew: Captain Mike, Lionel and Liliana.They were professional, pleasant, kind and very helpful. They made our visit to the NaPali Coast our favorite part of our Kauai vacation. We highly recommend Makana Charters Boat Tour.

Great experience. Crew was super friendly and attentive. Saw a huge pod of dolphins with babies. Great tour of the coast, caves and waterfalls. Snorkeling was decent but not as good as other places we have been. Boat ride was very enjoyable. Highly recommend Makana Charters!

This tour was worth every penny we spent on it. The NaPali coast is obviously incredible. There’s nothing I could say about it that hasn’t already been said a million times. What made the tour special was the crew in the office and running the boat. Everyone was so helpful, informative, fun, and funny. I couldn’t recommend highly enough.

DO THIS. It will exceed your expectations. Yes, there is the mystical Na Pali coast, the pods of dolphins, the snorkeling, and the emphasis on both safety and fun. What I was not counting on what Sean and Asia's openness in sharing about their deep connection to the land and their culture. It was an honor to hear their stories and to witness such beauty. So happy we went with Makana Charters. Their boat was the perfect medium between the small rafts and the large craft enabling them to provide a comfortable experience and still access the caves and shoreline easily. The crew was excellent and took good care of us the entire time. We had a fun ride on the unusually high south surf, saw 20-30 dolphins, caves, waterfalls and the beautiful coast. Snorkeling was fantastic with many fish and a sea turtle. Would absolutely recommend.
