What an amazing trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the exciting ride out with Captain "A" and Asian at the helm, a local who shared stories that enhanced the experience. At the end of the day, my husband and I, these 2 NH country bumpkins experienced true hospitality as we could not get a taxi to come get us at the dock. I wish I could remember captain "A"s full name, but he gave a friend a call, and we got a safe ride back to the ship...what good people. We pray for many blessings on this group and the boats they captain!!!

We took a morning tour on the Na Pali Kai III on September 11, 2025, and I highly recommend Makana Charters! The weather was absolutely perfect! The crew was very knowledgeable, entertaining, and personable, and the Captain’s boating skills were outstanding! I am still in awe of how he was able to maneuver the boat into the caves. In addition to the incredible Na Pali Coastline, we saw pods of dolphins and Hawaiian monk seals sun bathing on the beach as well as swimming in the ocean. On our lunch break, the Captain anchored at a spot with crystal clear water for us to swim/snorkel. (Snorkeling gear as well as waist belt floaters were provided.) Don’t swim?? No worries…the view of the colorful fish and clear waters from the boat is amazing! The sandwiches provided for lunch were deli style and tasty, and the cooler was well stocked with water, juices, and sodas which we were allowed to help ourselves to during the entire tour. Makana Charters far exceeded my expectations and I was proud to be able to support a native Hawaiian family-owned business.

What an awesome experience. So much more fun on a smaller boat Seiko II. The captain did an amazing job getting us into the caves. Snorkeling was calm, lots of fish and turtles and even a monk seal resting on shore. I would love to do this again.

It was an amazing experience. The guys who came with us were awesome, very friendly and kind. We saw some amazing coastline, dolphins, turtles and got to snorkel with some beautiful fishes. We had two young kids and the guys were so nice and helped us with the kids to get in the water and kept them engaged in the water when we did some snorkeling. Definitely recommend them!

Absolutely the best tour. The Captain "AA" and crew Charlie with Makana Charters were fantastic. The Captain got us in the caves and coves where the other boats could not go. We were able to see where some of the biggest movies in Hollywood were shot. You can tell when people love their job, by the stories they tell. The crew knew the laws and Hawaiian history they incorporated into their stories. We highly recommend the private tour.

10/10 experience! Entire crew was extremely helpful and made the day so fun! I had never snorkeled before and the captain took out time just for me to make sure I knew what I was doing! Best thing i’ve done on my trip to Kauai!!
