Even Dracula would die of boredom waiting in this queue !!!🧛🏻‍♀️ Bran Castle is certainly impressive from the outside, but unfortunately the whole visitor experience feels much more like “Dracula Disneyland” than an authentic historical attraction. The first thing you meet is the seemingly endless queue – long enough to make even Count Dracula die of boredom !! What makes it even more frustrating is that there are essentially two classes of visitors: those with a standard ticket waiting in the long line, and those who pay for the much more expensive Fast Pass and simply walk past a queue of perhaps 100 people. Not exactly the most pleasant feeling when you have already paid quite a lot for admission. Once inside, the castle itself is interesting but, in my opinion, does not justify the waiting time, the crowds and the overall cost. Even the Torture Rooms require an additional ticket, which adds further to the feeling that almost every part of the experience has been commercialised. At the foot of the castle there is a large open-air market full of Dracula-themed souvenirs, food, drinks and just about every vampire-related item imaginable. It can actually be fun to walk around, although it reinforces the feeling that the whole place has become a tourist attraction built around the Dracula brand. My recommendation? Visit Bran, enjoy the market, admire and photograph the castle from below – it is genuinely beautiful from the outside – but unless visiting the interior is something you particularly want to tick off your list, I would skip the entrance. The best part of Bran Castle may actually be the view of the castle rather than the visit inside.
