Went on the really fun Halloween tour. It's well worth a visit. But be aware that I'm parts of the castle, it will be very crammed! Also, the little town of Bran (though very touristy) is also lovely to explore.

It's quite pretty on the outside but I wouldnt necessarily wait to go inside again. Granted it was the day after Halloween, so we anticipated it to be busy, but could not enjoy anything with how bad the crowd was.

(Translated by Google) This is the place that inspired the character of Count Dracula in Bram Stoker's novel. Built in the 14th century as a defensive fortress, it also served as a customs house and royal residence. Today, it houses a museum of history and culture. Despite being the most famous castle in Romania, and while it's not bad as a castle, it's not as spectacular as the legends have made it out to be. Inside, you can see some rooms with period decor, but it's usually so crowded that it makes visiting difficult. Tickets can be purchased from the machines at the entrance or in advance online. Opening hours: Monday 12:00-18:00 and Tuesday-Sunday 09:00-18:00. Price: 70 RON. The torture chamber costs 20 RON and the time tunnel, 30 RON. There is paid parking next to the castle for 6 RON/hour, although you can also park in the village, which is free and a 10-minute walk away, and walk to the castle.
