The first thing I have to say is that Bran Castle is absolutely not worth the money. Not even close. It is, of course, an interesting historical place, but the whole Dracula connection feels extremely forced. Dracula has been attached to this castle mainly for tourism, and you can really see it in the themed rooms inside - they feel cheap, awkward and poorly done rather than atmospheric or impressive. I visited on a weekday and it was still very crowded. The castle is quite cramped inside, with narrow rooms and passages, and when there are so many people everyone is constantly trying to squeeze past each other or get ahead. It quickly becomes annoying and takes away from the whole experience. Overall, I left feeling much more disappointed than impressed. I expected atmosphere, history and something memorable, but instead it felt overcrowded, overpriced and overly commercialized around the Dracula theme. And if I compare it to Peleș Castle, Bran Castle is honestly not even in the same league. Peleș is stunning, rich in detail and genuinely impressive. Bran, in comparison, felt like almost nothing.

Definitely a must see activity but gosh they have made it so cheesy. Lots of the rooms just have weird vampire-themed projections and it’s just weird. And it does get very crowded and claustrophobic but the advantage is they don’t have timed entry so you’re guaranteed to be able to get in especially if you buy tickets online ahead of time

Neat fortress with unique defensive design. Less interesting from a historical perspective as any relation to Vlad seems to be conjectured. A little overly touristy but neat nonetheless. Would have appreciated more kitschy vampire stuff, most of the markets had all the same mass produced items.
