Absolute tourist trap. They overcharge for tickets. Way too much for what the place has to offer and they force you to buy the village entrance ticket. Lady at the ticket office is extremely rude. Started talking on her phone to her friend while i was still asking her questions. She didn’t give a shit even though i spoke to her in romanian. What a god awful place and experience. I bring my foreign friends here almost every time and year by year it’s worse. Will talk everyone down from coming here. Ps: they ask for more money inside the castle if you want to visit the torture chamber. So basically you don’t have access to everything inside. What a load of awful place

(Translated by Google) Bran Castle, which is presented as "Dracula's Castle", was a big disappointment. Within about 20 minutes we were done and wanted to leave. The displays are poor, there is no depth or interesting story and the tour feels short and boring. There is almost no sense of mystery or experience that justifies the hype. The view from the castle and the external beauty are indeed beautiful and impressive, but beyond that there is not much to see. In my opinion it is not worth coming from afar and does not justify the entrance fee.

(Translated by Google) Bran Castle, known worldwide as Dracula's Castle, is one of Romania's most iconic attractions, perfectly combining history, legend, and tourist appeal. Perched on a rocky outcrop at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, it immediately strikes with its scenic location and fairytale-like appearance, reminiscent of the Gothic imagery associated with the vampire myth. Built in the 14th century as a defensive fortress and customs post, the castle's real history is far different from that of legend: the connection to Vlad the Impaler, often associated with Dracula, is in reality very tenuous and largely the result of tourism marketing. However, this does not detract from the charm of the visit, which focuses more on the atmosphere than on the historical accuracy of the myth. The interior is an intricate labyrinth of steep staircases, narrow corridors, and small rooms, furnished with period furniture, weapons, armor, and historical objects. A significant portion of the tour is dedicated to the royal apartments, renovated in the 20th century by Queen Marie of Romania, which add an elegant and less gloomy touch to the vampire imagery. The terraces and panoramic towers offer splendid views of the surrounding woods, one of the most appreciated aspects of the visit. On the other hand, the castle can feel crowded, especially in high season, and the small rooms can make the experience sometimes rushed. Those expecting a spacious museum or an in-depth account of Dracula may be disappointed, as will those with mobility issues, given the many stairs and narrow passages. In conclusion, Bran Castle is a recommended visit for those who love evocative places, dark legends, and spectacular views, rather than for those seeking a rigorous historical experience. It's not truly Dracula's castle, but it remains one of the most fascinating and photographed symbols of Transylvania, capable of leaving a strong and evocative impression.

(Translated by Google) It was a disappointment. And it was a disappointment because I expected, I had imagined, that it would be centered on Dracula. Quite the opposite; I have to admit I was completely ignorant. Dracula is a fictional character who alludes to the real one, Vlad Dracuk. He was a prince who did indeed visit this castle, and nothing more. Consequently, as I said, the rooms are dedicated to much later kings, and there's only one room with a box simulating the place where Dracula's body would presumably be. And although it's very well preserved and shows the life where Queen Maria of Romania lived in the 20th century, my complete lack of knowledge and my expectations of something else—you can imagine what—meant that I didn't appreciate my visit as I should have.

Being Irish im a huge fan of Dracula 🧛‍♂️ However, like the book, this castle is a work of fiction when it comes to Dracula, with spurious links to Bram Stokers inspiration Vlad the Impaler…that said it’s another beautiful castle, in a beautiful setting. Well worth a visit, merch and gift shops are a bit weak.
