Product: Tokyo: Best of Shibuya Food Tour

We did a lunch time food tour in the Dotonbori area of Osaka, and having Shasta giving the tour was a delight! The stories of each of the places we stopped and the history of the food was amazing to learn. Shasta also walked us to the Shinsaibashi area after the official tour was over and pointed out some fun shops that we would not have found in our short time in Osaka!

One of our favorite experiences in the Kyoto/Uji area!! So special to learn more about matcha in the area it was created. Ako was such a sweet and wonderful tour guide! The walking tour was very educational yet still very relaxing. We prioritize good food and sights when we travel so this was perfect for us. We would highly recommend to all of our friends and family!

We had a great evening with Kevin, experiencing something of the vibrant night life of Osaka and eating a tasty variety of the local specialties. The local venues and food could not be faulted, and as a bonus Kevin kept us entertained with anecdotes of Osaka. Thank you!!

My goodness. 3 hours wasn't long enough. I wish we could have gone longer. Lucas was the best. By the end of the tour I felt like I was hanging out with a friend not a tour guide. 6 out of 5 stars. Wonderful. Tummy full. Face happy.

Tastiest tour! Sep 2024 • Family Visiting from New York, my daughter and I had the pleasure of a 3-hour tour of Tokyo’s old neighborhood in the northern part of the city with Arigato Travel. Our guide, Claire, made it fun, informative, and quite yummy! We got to sample many tasty treats unique to the area. And the shop owners, who knew Claire, were welcoming and engaging. She also shared colorful facts about the Yanaka Ginza shopping area and the various Shinto and Buddhist shines and ancient cemeteries along the way, awakening a surprising fascination in my young daughter. Even though we had a tea ceremony reservation time to keep (and you CAN’T be late for that!), she was patient and flexible as we wandered into the artisanal boutiques for a bit of shopping. Claire made sure we were right on time for the tea ceremony, which was much more authentic and warmly inclusive than the last one we did. I can’t recommend this tour more enthusiastically. It was a grand experience, from start to finish!!

My wife and I have just finished an outstanding food tour with Wes in Asakusa. He was an excellent guide and host making you feel more like a friend. The insights he gave us not only about food but also Japanese life in general will be very useful during the rest of our trip. Cannot recommend Arigato as a company or Wes in particular highly enough.

It was a great all inclusive tour which we were brought to visit the Byodin temple, the oldest Shrine and tea grinding and matcha making/tasting. Our guide was very informative and shared with us fun facts like the different types of teas, how to pray at a shrine. She made sure to make a pit stop so I can collect my goshuin (stamps 😉) and translated for us when we were having communication issues. We were well fed and even a sweet treat at the end of the tour. I definitely recommend this tour if you are planning to visit Uji. We had plenty of time at the end to roam around town and make it back early to where we were staying in Kyoto.

We did a 3 hour whiskey, sake and cocktail tour with Eduardo in Kyoto. Although it rained, we had a fantastic evening walking to different bars and restaurants, and trying the various sake, whiskey and foods that were unique to Japan. Thanks again Eduardo 👍

We enjoyed our time spent in Kyoto thanks to Jahmelah!!! She took our Matcha Kyoto Green Tea tour to the next level as she informed us about the history of the areas we visited. She deserves all the stars because I'm sure we wouldn't have learned as much about the food, etiquette, and surrounding areas. Thank you Jahmelah!! We appreciate you!

We had the pleasure to have Jacob as our guide through shinjiku. He teaches us about the historie in n the food culture and also the district of shinjiku as an entertainment district. We ended in a karaoke bar close to Golden Gai. It was a great bar and we had a great time drinking and doing karaoke. I can certainly recommend the food tour. We had 3 different dishes and all were amazing! Again, of you want a food tour in shinjiku then this is the best one to book!
