We really enjoyed this tour. We learned a lot and were introduced to a variety of foods that we never would have known to try on our own. The group size was small so the tour was very personal and easy going. Ana was a wonderful guide and a wealth of knowledge. We would absolutely recommend this tour, and Ana as a guide!

Fun tour

Initially very unsure about the tour but the guide Ike was excellent and spoke very good English. A super knowledgeable guide and generally interesting person to spend an evening with.

More than just food

So. Much. Fun.

What a fun — and tasty! — tour. Our guide, Sae, was absolutely delightful and knew so much about the area, the food and the local culture! She created a traveling party out of our group of 8 tourists, with each stop bringing new and surprising activities. At one stop, we learned about Japanese knives and at another we played arcade games! And of course we ate and drank! Such a memorable evening—a real highlight of our Japan trip!

Absolute Osaka food tour is a must!

Melissa was our fantastic host, she was very knowledgeable and personable. We visited 4 different places. Melissa used her knowledge and our preferences to bring together a fabulous food selection for us to taste. We had a generous selection of food and a couple of alcoholic drinks each during our evening. She took photos of us along the way to make it an evening to remember forever.

Food Tour with Jane

We had a wonderful food tour through Shibuya with Jane as our guide! She took us to five fantastic spots, each with its own unique flavor and charm. Beyond the incredible food, Jane shared stories about the local art, history, and culture, adding so much depth to the experience. She was an absolute delight to spend time with—warm, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. Our group of eight had a range of food allergies and sensitivities, and Jane handled everything with such kindness and care. We’re so grateful for her guidance and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tokyo!

So much fresh, amazing food

We did a tour that was breakfast/lunch. It started at 8:30 in the morning where we met Jacob and Jane (Jacob was the main guide and Jane was "shadowing"). We met in front of a famous coffee place where they got us coffees to start then went through the fish markets. We are at one restaurant then Jacob bought fish from the indoor section where the locals go and we had a picnic. We finished off with the typical dessert (the fish looking pastry filled with red beans) from the shop that invented them. Jacob was very knowledgeable and super friendly. He had a lot of great stories to share. It was our fourth day there and I wish we would have done it sooner.

A great last night activity.

It was Natsumi's first solo tour and she did amazing! We loved the side stories about Japanese culture and history (like the baseball fans throwing a KFC statue into the river). She showed us a couple of shrines too. The food was excellent and she did a great job helping find things with our dietary needs. Personally I loved the part when she took us a couple of streets off of the main, busy street the best. But that's a preference. Natsumi even found a different dessert for us since we had the planned one a couple of times by then. She even helped us get back to the correct subway to get back to the hotel. Would definitely recommend this, especially if you don't mind crowds. That area of Osaka is as busy as Times Square.

Jane was absolutely awesome! She brought an incredible amount of energy and enthusiasm to the experience, and it was clear from the start that she genuinely loves what she does. She was not only engaging but also full of useful information that made the entire trip more enriching. Her passion, professionalism, and positive attitude truly made the day memorable. (This review is for food tour at night in Osaka on 7/16/2023) I felt so bad writing this review almost two years later because the tour left such a fond memory for me and my friend on that night in Osaka! I want to give my thanks for our amazing tour guide, Ike, for sharing his knowledge of Osaka and Japanese food with us, bringing us to a few fantastic spots to try local foods throughout the 3 hour tour! And more importantly, thank you Ike for being so friendly and kind to us! Before the tour began, me and my friend was struggling to find the meeting location and we were late for a few minutes when we got to it but fortunately Ike was patiently waiting for us and we were able to join the tour! We had delicious takoyaki, kushikatsu, sashimi, grilled squid, chicken skewer and went to a izakaya with a beautiful interior! Lastly we ended our night with the desert taiyaki and I had the red bean paste flavor and it was so good! As a foodie myself I give 10/10 ⭐️ for all the foods on this tour 😋 Before we said our goodbyes a very sweet moment happened when Ike gave us each a origami that he made in his origami class, I got a small crab and I find it very adorable! This little cute gift adds more warmth to this tour and made it memorable to our stay in Osaka :) I want to say thank you to Arigato Japan and Ike for creating this unforgettable, wonderful and lovely experience for me and my friend 😊

Jane is amazing! Her food tour was exceptional as was her passion for the restaurants and Tokyo in general. I cannot imagine a better guide and would recommend her for any tour. The ramen restaurant was amazing and every stop was very good!
