We had the most wonderful experience with our guide Sebastian. His historical knowledge of Gion district in Kyoto and the Geisha was super and we loved walking through the quaint town, he was a mine of information. The meal was lovely in a traditional restaurant. We had a lovely evening. Thank you Sebastian and Arigato Tours.

My family and I had a wonderful time on this Arigato Travel Japan Food Tour. Our guide, Melissa, provided exceptional inside information not only about food in Osaka, but also other about aspects of the town and its history. Her restaurant choices were perfect, and she skillfully ordered a mix of meals we requested and food she wanted us to try (which were all delicious!). She also was able to read the group very well, and discern our preferences and level of adventure. I highly recommend Melissa and this food tour!!

The Hiroshima food tour by Ami was amazing! She not only showed us hidden gems to eat the best food in Hiroshima, but she also explained a lot about the culture and the city as well! Also Sae in Osaka deserves all the praise for her witty and fact-packed tour! Her English was impeccable! Last but not least, Yappi showing us around Tsukiji market in Tokyo was phenomenal. I would love to hang out with all these guides after hours - they were all so friendly, easy going and knowledgeable!

Must do if you love food!

This was such a fun experience! We met Akiko in an iconic part of Osaka, learned all about the history, and were able to sample some unique foods! She also took us to a couple of game establishments and a cool knife store. Well worth the time. The food was plentiful, and there was something for everyone. She also asked our preferences--for instance,"were we adventurous eaters?" Had a great time and highly recommend!

Our family ( two kids under 10) took a food tour of Harajuku in July 2025 with our guide Clara. We had 5 stops- one of which was a delicious okonomiyaki lunch, along with matcha treats, candy, doriyaki, and spam sandwiches. It was a lot of food in 3 hours but was very delicious! Clara gave us some interesting history about the neighborhood and explained some Japanese culture as well as showing us more than just Takeshita street in Harajuku. Highly recommend this tour

We did two tours with Arigato. The first with Kevin took us on a street food tour of Osaka - which was brilliant because I would have no idea where to start with where was food. And every dish was delicious. In Kyoto, we had an excellent tour with Sae who took us to some wonderful eating spots and gave us invaluable advice about Japanese dining etiquette. The food was delicious and Sae was really good company

Our family went on a food tour in Shibuya with Wesley. We had an amazing time! He took us to four different casual restaurants that showcased different Japanese foods. They were all delicious, but the ramen place stood out. We would have never found these places on our own. Wesley also showed us less crowded hidden gems in the area. He had a lot of wonderful stories and insight. Definitely recommend!

Our last night in Osaka we had a food tour with Kevin. I did not expect much because I thought we were going to go to the food stalls. Not so! Kevin took us to 4 different off the beaten path places to dine. We had everything from takoyaki to sushi and many other dishes topped off with taiyaki, fish shaped cakes. Kevin was fun and very knowledgeable. We had a memorable time. Take this tour!

Best night in Osaka

Our last night in Osaka we had a food tour with Kevin. I did not expect much because I thought we were going to go to the food stalls. Not so! Felt like an insider finding all the cool spots!

We had absolutely wonderful time on our tour! Russ was a fantastic guide, giving us an ongoing history and culture lesson as we ate at some of the best places of our entire trip. From little shops in the open market to cool izakayas tucked away where you'd never find them on your own, we felt like we were getting an insider's view. The time went quickly, and we were STUFFED by the end. Go light on food before the tour, and don't make any solid dinner plans -- you'll be satisfied for a while.

A fantastic evening ! Our guide Natsumi was full of knowledge of the local area and had some great stories to tell, even showed us some beautiful hidden shrines amongst the chaos of Donbori. Every place we went had a local feel and the food was great all round. We also got alot of knowledge of where to eat for our next couple of days is Osaka. Thanks Natsumi 😊

We had a fun food tour of Osaka Shinsekai with Akiko for dinner last night. She shared a lot about the history of Shinsekai as well as Japanese culture. A native of Osaka, she was an excellent guide. Highly recommend this tour to explore the Shinsekai area as well as Osaka food cultures.

An incredible food tour!

Jane was incredible! She was very informative, and was very friendly. My sister is a vegetarian and made sure to accommodate for her. We truly enjoyed our food shops, and she always made time for questions and/or comments.

Had a wonderful time trying out a ton of new foods with Olivia! She was phenomenal both in personality and in information. Her English was exceptional and she provided great insight for shopping and other things to do in Hiroshima. She is great for younger audiences as well as adult audiences who enjoy sake and beer. (She also taught us some Japanese that will help our meals in the future) 11/10 guide.
