Our food and drink tour of Hiroshima was fantastic and our guide, Nagi, was absolutely wonderful. So friendly and knowledgeable, and just great company. I was with my wife and 15 year old daughter and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. For anyone who hasn’t already, you must try the okonomiyaki!

Went on a 3-hr culinary tour at Ginza with our wonderful and very knowledgeable guide, Ms. Motoko. We have 2 children on the tour and weren’t completely sure if they can be up for so much walking but fortunately ms Motoko was so engaging even with kids! Time well spent.

The guide we had was a lovely person and clearly did his best, so I want to be careful that this review isn’t seen as criticism of him personally. My issue is with the standard Arigato is offering for the extortionate price. I’ve done food and walking tours in many countries, and at this price I expect a genuinely expert local guide: someone with deep knowledge of the city and its food culture, who actively leads the experience and brings it to life with insight, context and interesting stories. Unfortunately, that wasn’t what we experienced. The tour felt much more like spending time and making conversation with a pleasant person who was obviously new to guiding, rather than being professionally guided by someone with the depth of expertise I would expect. We ultimately chose to finish early. Again, our guide was kind and personable, and I don’t blame him. But at this price point, it is the company’s responsibility to recruit, train and provide guides with a much higher level of experience and expertise. The quality simply didn’t justify the cost.

We did the Kawaii Food Tour in Harajuku with our family today, and it was such a great experience. Two cheerful guides, Yappy and Rafee, were already waiting for us. We tried delicious food and drinks, visited little spots we would never have found on our own, and in between the guides told us all about life in Tokyo and everything we saw along the way. Since I'm vegetarian, Arigato Tours had specially selected restaurants beforehand where I could eat along too. They made it feel really personal by genuinely listening to what we needed. By the end of the tour we were so full we practically had to roll ourselves back to the station. Highly recommended!

The Kyoto Casual Ponchoto Evening Food Tour was an amazing experience all around. Our guide, Tak, was extremely informative and the tour included a perfect variety of food while enjoying a pleasant and scenic walk around the city. Meeting Tak was an absolute highlight of our entire trip. He was so much fun, and I would highly recommend this tour if you are looking for an easy going, laid back way to see Kyoto and enjoy some great food.

Amazing tour guide named Shigeki,. We explored through the fish market in the Tsukiji area and got to eat some breakfast and lunch that was selected by him. It was a fun authentic experience with a lot of knowledgeable anecdotes. I would use him again on a future visit. Arigato gozaimasu!

We did the absolute food tour in Osaka, and it was absolutely amazing! Akiko took us to places we otherwise would have missed (among which a hidden izakaya, and the best takoyaki we had, in a Michelin mentioned street food place). Great experience!

We had an excellent food tour with Justin! He was very easy to get along with so there was no awkwardness even though it was just him and 2 of us. He took us to some delicious places we never would have found and gave us some historical context for the area which really added to the experience! We would definitely do another tour with him
