Enjoyable Tour with Tomo

This was a very enjoyable tour with excellent insights from Tomo our guide. The only regret was that we did not sample a wider variety of food!

Our guide, Shicteki, met us at our Tokyo hotel to head out for an all day tour of Hakone. Our every comfort was provided for including snacks and water for the car ride! Even on a clear sunny weekend day, we were able to see all the sites and stay clear of the crowds thanks to our guide. Beautiful views of Mt Fuji, passing through the Hakone Sekisho, Shinsenkyo Gardens, an ancient tea house, Hakone Shrine and more. Our guide covered history, language, art, religion and had a relaxed sense of humor through it all. What a wonderful experience, thank you!

Hiroshima food experience

Masa provided us with a great experience of Hiroshima food and culture. We experienced a local beer brewery, sake bar, pastries & the highlight was the best okonomiyaki in Hiroshima! Masa was very generous with his time and ensured our tastes were catered for. This tour costs a lot more than other food tours and, whilst we enjoyed it and Masa was great, I’m not sure it is worth the money.

A great start to Tokyo

A fantastic intro to Tokyo! Walked around to see some area highlights, and stopped in places we wouldn’t have on our own to try different bites. The ramen was my favorite!

Great local spots, not just tourist spots, fun tour of the streets of Shibuya! Very fun!

We had a wonderful time on the Best of Shibuya food tour. Saika was such a fun and knowledgeable tour guide. We definitely tried food we would not have tried without a tour guide. One of the best parts of the tour was walking through parts of Shibuya, like beautiful and lively streets off the beaten path. She also took lots of fun pictures and shared with the group. It was a terrific way to get our trip started on our first full day/night in Tokyo. I highly recommend!!! Thank you, Saika!

We would thoroughly recommend the 'izakaya hopping like a local' evening food tour. Our tour guide was Sandra who was excellent. We went to two Izakawa to experience food where the local Japanese eat. Both were delicious. Ended the evening in a cosy wine bar where we tasted sauvignon blanc from Japan, delicious.

Spent a few weeks in Japan. Our last stop was Tokyo and we signed up for Arigato walking food tour! I have to say this was an amazing experience. It is a decent amount of walking but it is was so worth it. Our guide Vasilii took us to some really unique places to eat, and he was very knowledgeable. He knew so much about the food, traditions, and places in Tokyo! If you get a chance to do this tour it was really worth it. I felt like we got to see some places in Tokyo we would may have missed without our guide bringing us there! Plus the food was good, and plentiful! Be hungry when you go!

Wonderful introduction to local Japanese Izakaya ( pubs).

We had a wonderful experience with Sandra who took us to two different Izakaya to sample both fish/ seafood and chicken. We learned more about eating etiquette in Japan and tried some of the local beverages. Ended the evening with a final drink in a very cosy bar. The Japanese sauvignon blanc was delicious! Would definitely recommend.

Best experience in Tokyo!

This experience was one of the highlights of our trip in Tokyo! Alex was an amazing guide and was very informative. Aside from all the great food we got to try, we got to see and experience the bustling area of Shinjuku Golden Gai and learned a lot about the history and culture of this vibrant area of Tokyo. Highly recommend and make sure you request Alex as your guide!

Hannah was our guide for the Sugamo food tour. The food was delicious! She took us to some traditional eateries. We got to try Soba and some traditional desserts. We had 4 eating stops, but it was so much more than food too! She spoke about the history of the area, the temples, the depictions of Buda, why it's a traveling Buda, and other statues and objects of the district. We went to a couple of temples and supported local businesses. After the tour we went back to a few places and bought more. Highly recommend! And Hannah was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable of Japanese culture and the area's culture.

Our guide, Akiko, was excellent. She was very personable and knowledgeable. Akiko was very accommodating when we said there was something we wanted to try or wanted to avoid. All around excellent tour guide and worthwhile experience.

Our guide Clara was amazing, friendly, very informative and funny. Great coffee to start the day at Turret Coffee shop. Our tour was of Tsukiji Market, but we went to the Temples as well. We had traditional breakfast, some sashimi and a sweet stuffed pancake. So much food but catered to what we wanted. We had a fabulous time.

We took two tours. Akiko took us through Osaka Shinsekai street food tour. We had better food experiences with her knowledge and she taught us to say itadakisu in gratitude for the food we were being served. We enjoyed the food and conversation and learning from Akiko! Makki gave us a tasty and interesting morning Tsukiji breakfast tour. The whole experience was special and the guidance by Makki was fantastic! Going through the fish market where chefs and others buy the fresh fish was special. Makki bought an array of sushi and prepared a little picnic for us and taught us how to grind fresh wasabi on a shark skin kitchen tool. Great morning with a great guide! Arigato gozaimasu!

Great street food tour in Osaka!

Great tour! Made multiple stops and tried amazing street food. Our guide, Natsumi, was wonderful and very knowledgeable. She introduced us to food at multiple stops and explained the origins of them. We loved it all and having Natsumi leading us made it all so simple. Thanks!!

We had a wonderful day in the lovely little town of Ushi, which is one of the centers of matcha tea growing outside of Kyoto. Our guide Yukiko was knowledgeable, personable and nicely energetic. She truly loves what she does! Yukiko brought us to an amazing local restaurant for lunch and then excellently shepherded us through the lovely little town, with all of its highlights...... as well as immersing into all things matcha!

The food was wonderful, and the tour guide Vasilii was incredible. Very knowledgeable not only of the food, but of Tokyo as a whole. You can tell he really enjoys the city and especially letting people know how great it is there. Can't recommend him or the tour highly enough
