Saida was great! She was very informative, and was very patient with our fussy 1 year old. The food was delicious! I was happy that my family and I tried lots of new things. I would highly recommend this tour group for families.

Had a breakfast tour of market in Tsukiji. It was incredible. Vasilii our guide was fun & informative. All of the food was fresh and delicious! It was my last day in Tokyo and so awesome to end on a high note. Do it!

We did a couple tours with Arigato during our stay in Japan. We did a food tour around Shinjuku with Daniel who was such a fun guide. Very informational, we got a ton of insider info around the area, a lot of great food, and Daniel showed us a super fun evening. This was such a great intro to the area and great way to kick off our trip. I thought it gave us ideas of things we may want to eat or do as we continued our stay. We also did a Tea/Matcha tour in Uji with Yukiko. If you’re a fan of tea and matcha, you will love this tour! Yukiko was a wonderful guide, taking us around the tea plantation and describing the processes the farmers use while growing the crops. Lunch was great, and all the info she has about the Uji area was really interesting. We had a great time on this tour as well. No complaints about any tour we did through Arigato, would recommended to check some of them out if you plan to visit Japan!

We thoroughly enjoyed exploring a number of bars and restaurants in the Shimbashi/Ginza area with Shigeki. We learned about the different styles of Japanese Sake and tasted Japanese Whisky. A lovely way to learn about Japanese alcohol.

Gotta do this tour!!!

The only thing negative about this tour is we did it on our last day in Tokyo rather than our first. Claire was a terrific guide and host. She did a great job with our group of eight not only taking us to dine absolutely terrific food spots (come hungry because it’s a lot of food!) but also taught us lots about the history of the area as well as teaching us some of the language, customs, and etiquette of the area. We can’t say enough great things about this tour & Claire. Definitely worth it. Oh, and Claire sounds pretty good at the ending Karaoke portion of the tour even if you were light on the sake and beer! :).

Informative and delicious tour with Ully.

We had a wonderful tour with Ully. After a visit to a temple, and a traditional Japanese breakfast in a local market, we perused the Tsajiki market selecting items (e.g. fish, strawberries, fresh wasabi we would grate ourselves) for a picnic we enjoyed on the market rooftop. Following the picnic, we visited a shrine and tour the exterior market some more. Ully's English was exceptional - it sounded as if she'd lived in the US, though she never has - enabling a little more free flowing dialogue and opportunity to ask questions about Ully and culture of Japan than with some of our other guides. I suspect her youthful enthusiasm for running tours also contributed to her candor and ease.

Fun morning at Tsukiji with Vasile

We booked a private breakfast tour and had a great time with Vasile. He is a very tall Russian who’s also lived in the USA, so he had a great perspective on what makes Japanese culture unique. He’s also a former oysterman and has worked in restaurant supply so has a wealth of seafood knowledge. We started with a quick stop by Buddhist temple and orientation to the area, then Vasile walked us through the restaurant stalls, seafood vendors and miscellaneous shops of the Tsukiji area. Along the way we sampled some snacks like ebi senbei (shrimp pressed very flat into a rice cracker) and fresh oysters. He was also collecting little bites along the way, and took us up to have a picnic above the market, with some delicious sashimi and also excellent strawberries and freshly ground wasabi (the real stuff), accompanied by a mid-morning sake flight. It was a fun treat to have a knowledgeable guide take us through the hustle and bustle of Tsukiji, a classic Tokyo experience. Communication with Arigato was easy, clear and prompt.

We had a fantastic time with Shigeki visiting a number of bars and restaurants in the Shimbashi/Ginza area. We thoroughly enjoyed trying the different Sake, Whisky, Cocktails and Food.

Fun for the whole family!

Delicious food! Pace was great for my 10 year old and 1 year old. Great family adventure. My 10 year old loved the sweets and the gachapon stop. Saida was very knowledgeable and kind with my kids. She was a great tour guide, and I would highly recommend her again!

A foodies dream!

Daniel was our tour guide and he was excellent!! His theme while giving us the tour was that everything is hidden in plain sight. This tour is a foodies dream. Large portions and multiple stops skip the meal prior to the tour!! He was knowledgeable about the Japanese culture and cuisine and he shared his own story throughout the tour. Even though the tour was scheduled to end at 7pm he went beyond to finish the tour.

Wiw! Awesome! Our guide, Vasily was incredible. He was informative, fun & really made the tour great. So fun to experience the fish market and to have a picnic of the things he purchased along the way. We even had some sake. The food was delicious. We had a fantastic time with Arigato travel especially with our guide Eri. She was very hospitable, friendly and very familiar with the Uji area where we had our food tour. She even accomodated our needs for the use of rest room facilities as needed. Her congenial and heart warming personality made our trip very meaningful and educational at the same time because of her extensive knowledge of the culture within Uji and the history and background about matcha tea which was the highlight of our food tasting. Eri is perfect representation of what an amazing guide should be and weare thankful to had her as our guide in this important and beautiful location in Japan. It was a great experience! The food was amazing and our tour guide Daniel was the most enthusiastic tour guide we ever met. Our whole trip in Japan we said: food, bar, food, bar! Our Uji Tea tour with Yukiko was the highlight of our trip to Japan. Yukiko was a wonderful, considerate and knowledgable guide. She taught us so much about tea, local history, Japanese culture and etiquette. We were very grateful for her patience and understanding while answering all our questions! We also appreciated her local knowledge and tips for our trip going forward. The food on the tour, including green tea soba and a matcha experience, was delicious and we loved the traditional feel of the venues. Visiting Ujigami shrine, a world heritage site, and Byodo-in Temple were also highlights. Arigato gozaimasu Yukiko!
