Batu Caves & Selangor Pewter Tour in Half a Day

Not far from the centre of Kuala Lumpur, is the world famous Batu Caves. But before you are taken to the limestone hill that has a series of caves and cave temples you will visit the equally well-known Royal Selangor Pewter factory. Take a tour around the largest factory of its kind in the world, learn about its history and watch a demonstration of some of the many processes involved in creating a pewter product (including casting, filling, polishing and hammering).

Afterwards, a short stop at a Batik Center will simply fascinate. Watch how this Malaysian fabric is designed and printed.

The last part of the tour, of course, is the Batu Caves. Instantly recognized, the limestone outcrop houses a Hindu temple and is visited by thousands of pilgrims and tourists each year. At its entrance is the impressive 140 foot tall golden statue of Hindu God Lord Murugan. Then, take the 272 steps to the main cave temple, watching the cheeky monkeys along the way and the magnificent views.

The tour operates 2 times a day
At least 2 people are required for this activity to take place. Single traveler may book this product, but is subject to availability and cancellation if minimum number of people is not met on the activity day.
Return hotel pick-ups from Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Chinatown and Bukit Bintang areas only. (Surcharge applies for pick up from other locations). Pick-up time is 15-30 minutes prior to start time.
Tour is not available for 3 days on Thaipusam Festival (Eve of the festival, festival day, and day after the festival)

Batu Caves is a religious site, therefore it enforces a dress code for visitors. Enforcement is more strict for women than for men. If you don't meet the dress code you can rent clothes from them for 5RM ($1.25 US).
Dress Code Men - t-shirt and shorts are fine, but shorts need to be below-knee. Don't wear singlets/tank tops and flip flops
Dress Code Ladies - nothing too short and revealing. Shoulders should be covered by a scarf or shawl.
Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
