Stephanie was a great guide, gave "behind the scene" insights on the displays that made our visit more meaningful. The Vatican museum is huge, it can be overwhelming or boring without a guide.
Incredible Tour - Vatican, Sistene Chapel, the Dome
Highly, highly recommend! Our guide, Elena I think... was excellent. She was highly attentive to our group and super knowledgeable. She also was really great at navigating us around the facilities. For those signing up for the Dome... great views... be ready for 320 steps!! No joke!!
Roman History in September
Booking a tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica is the way to go, especially with long lines. However, during our tour on Sept. 11, it was a very busy and crowded day, especially in the Vatican Museums, making it difficult to enjoy the experience. Our tour guide was very passionate and knowledgeable about the Sistine Chapel.
Great tour but earpiece management needs to be better
The tour was very informative although very fast paced. It was nice to skip the line, but I would have liked more time in several of the side galleries. My only complaint was the earpieces, the sound was fine, but one was dropped on the ground before being put back in the collection and then handed out to someone. Also, all the earpieces were collected before entering the Sistine Chapel and then randomly handed out again afterwards, who knows what assortment of germs we were exposed to from this practice.
An appreciative traveler
Our guide Barbie, was as knowledgeable and flowing as she was charming. I admit I fell for her! Seriously, her navigation of the logistics and the data and her dedication to the task were obvious. I feel like I was truly exposed to some of the concepts that formed the foundation of the Cupoloni, The Sistine chapel, etc.
