This tour is designed to help visitors understand the history of slavery throughout time and in Louisiana during the 17th and 18th centuries. It focuses on the origins of slavery, the different types of slavery; human costs, economic implications and abolitionist movements.
It combines two guide narrations, one while in transit and the other on site at Whitney Plantation. We discuss how the institution of slavery created a world-wide economy that was part of the Industrial Revolution.
