Why take this tour?
This is a walking tour, followed by lunch. The tour focuses on the homes, architecture and culture in the Garden District and the historical background for its development. In addition to the neighborhood, we visit the Lafayette Cemetery #1 and explain the customs for burials in New Orleans. The walking portion takes between 1.5-2 hours. After the walking segment, we finish with lunch at Commander's Palace (proper attire required). If you choose to finish with lunch, most people spend about $40 on lunch. AT PRESENT, LAFAYETTE CEMETERY #1 IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC FOR REPAIRS.
